Princess Kako Dazzles in an Exquisitely Charming Blue Dress as She Approaches Her 30th Birthday!
As the honorary president of the Japan Tennis Association, she enthusiastically observes the tournament.
Just over two months remain until the end of her twenties.
At the Japan Open Tennis men’s singles final, Princess Kako (29) dazzled in a refreshing royal blue outfit. Since taking over as the honorary president of the Japan Tennis Association from her sister Mako Komuro (32) in 2021, she has consistently attended the event each year.
According to a reporter from the Imperial Household Agency, “Princess Kako’s attitude towards her public duties changed after her sister’s marriage.”
“Having witnessed the media and public backlash surrounding Mako’s marriage, she may have thought, ‘I want to fulfill my duties as a royal until the end and marry in a way that everyone can accept.'”
However, in recent months, the Akishino family has been more preoccupied with Prince Hisahito’s (18) educational path than with Princess Kako’s marriage prospects. Rumors have circulated about him entering the University of Tokyo through a recommendation, prompting a petition against it. What thoughts does Princess Kako have for her younger brother? Yasushi Kunou, a royal journalist, speculates on her feelings.
“Princess Kako initially enrolled in Gakushuin University through internal admission, but she chose to transfer to the International Christian University because she found its education more appealing. She likely hopes that Hisahito will also choose the school he likes and study what he enjoys. Princess Kako entered through AO (admissions office) entrance exams. She probably wants her brother to advance to a school in a way that the public can accept, rather than through a recommendation that might attract criticism.”
With her 30th birthday approaching in about two months, Princess Kako is committed to her public duties, carrying her thoughts about her “siblings” with her.
