In mid-June, a press conference was held to announce “THE LEGEND & BUTTERFLY,” a film commemorating Toei’s 70th anniversary.

Takuya Kimura (49) plays the role of Nobunaga Oda and Haruka Ayase (37) plays the role of his wife, Princess Nohime.

It has been 11 years since they co-starred in “Antarctica” (TBS) in 2011, but at the event, the two actresses showed a well-matched dialogue. At the event, the two actors exchanged a few laughs.

However, the two actors have been attracting more attention than their collaboration with Ayase.

Junichi Okada (41), who is junior in the office, will also play the role of Nobunaga Oda in next year’s NHK Taiga Drama “Dousuru Ieyasu. Moreover, the broadcast will begin in January next year, the same month as the movie. So, attention is already focusing on which Nobunaga will be more popular.

What are the prospects for the “Nobunaga battle”?

What are the prospects for the “Nobunaga battle?” “There are many works based on Nobunaga, and it is possible for talents to create roles based on their own interpretations. It is not so much that one Nobunaga will be more successful than the other, but rather that they will both be popular. I think Johnny’s did this intentionally to create a buzz. I think they are hoping for a synergistic effect rather than a dispersion of fans,” said entertainment journalist Takayuki Jyoshita.

The difference in their portrayal of Nobunaga is also noteworthy.
