The shopkeeper told the police that he was selling products containing illegal drug ingredients.

On December 16, the Metropolitan Police Department’s Anti-Drug and Firearms Division arrested Tsugunosuke Hasegawa, 29, the manager of GRAY TATTOO (hereinafter “G”), a tattoo parlor in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, on suspicion of violating the Drug Control Law (transfer for profit). The store is located in the center of Shibuya and is famous for attracting about 100 customers a day. Hasegawa is believed to have conspired with his associates to sell a large quantity of products containing marijuana-derived ingredients.

The alleged incident occurred in May ’24. On May 2, after smoking one of the cigars, Ms. A complained of vomiting and other health problems and was rushed to the hospital. The police, after consulting with him, examined the “joint” and found ingredients of illegal drugs in it, which led to the discovery of the incident.

The suspect, Hasegawa, was running “G,” claiming to be “one of the largest CBD stores in Japan (with legal ingredients). In reality, however, the shop contained illegal drug ingredients. Mr. A was not the only victim. Since May 2012, at least 11 people have been taken to hospitals complaining of hallucinations, vomiting, and other symptoms.

70% of those arrested were in their 20s or younger.

The police have yet to confirm or deny Hasegawa’s guilt.

A photographer for this magazine took pictures of the suspect’s sending to the police station on December 18. He was cowering in the back seat of the convoy so that the press could not see his face, but when he was photographed from the side of the car, he was seen with a shocking fresh tattoo on his neck.

The man was photographed on the side of the car with a fresh tattoo on his neck. However, it is dangerous to use it easily. It is not known whether “G” intentionally mixed in illegal drug ingredients, but there is a possibility that the manufacturing process may be sloppy and impurities may be mixed in, depending on the vendor.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare, a record 6,703 people were arrested for marijuana in 2011. Seventy percent of them were young people in their 20s or younger. The police are reminding people not to take for granted the “legality” of marijuana even if a store tells them it is legal, but to be very careful about its use.

Some illegal drugs can lead to addiction and cause serious damage to the human body. It is extremely dangerous to take them out of curiosity.
