31-Year-Old Former Childcare Worker Sexually Assaulted Multiple Preschoolers
During nap time, the children fall asleep, and the colleagues’ attention tends to relax.
Taking advantage of this timing, the man took his target boy into an empty room. It was in that secret room that he allegedly committed the unforgivable crime.
On October 9, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police’s Mukojima Station arrested Hirota Yamashiro (31), an unemployed resident of Nerima Ward, on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse. He is accused of sexually assaulting a child referred to as A-kun at a nursery school in Sumida Ward where he worked as a childcare worker. During the investigation, Yamashiro reportedly stated, “I don’t want to talk about the incident.”
“The incident for which Yamashiro is suspected occurred on the afternoon of August 16 this year. He is alleged to have called A-kun into an empty room and committed lewd acts. After returning home, A-kun reported the abuse to his family. His father consulted the police, stating, ‘My son has suffered sexual abuse at the nursery school he attends.’ This led to the discovery of the incident,” reported a national newspaper’s social affairs reporter.
According to reports by Fuji Television and other media, Mr. A was not the only victim. According to Fuji TV and other media reports, A was not the only victim. It is possible that multiple children at the preschool were subjected to similar indecent acts by the suspect.
“We were in a relationship.”
Our magazine’s photographer captured images of Yamashiro’s transfer to the police on October 11. In the back seat of the transport vehicle, he displayed a shocking appearance, keeping his face down and never looking forward.
Incidents of lewd acts in educational settings, such as nursery schools and elementary schools, are on the rise. Here are some notable troubles that have occurred in recent years:
In January 2022, an elementary school teacher in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of indecent assault. At least four girls were victimized. The man called the girls into an empty classroom at the elementary school where he worked, locked the door, and touched them. He also told them not to tell anyone. This was the fourth time he had been arrested.
“Most teachers and childcare workers are serious about their jobs. However, there are a few individuals who harbor twisted desires towards children. For them, schools and childcare centers become ideal places to interact with children who are the objects of their desires.
Children who suffer from such abuse may be left with trauma. As parents, it would be difficult to trustfully leave their children in such environments. The government is working on measures to prevent such troubles in advance, such as establishing a ‘Japanese version of DBS’ to verify the criminal records of teachers, taking inspiration from the UK’s system.”
In the case mentioned at the beginning of this article, the police are also investigating in detail the extra crimes of the nursery school teacher who was arrested.
