Leah DiZon’s Stunning Instagram Return After a Year

Once dominating the Japanese gravure scene, the “Black Ship of the Gravure World” makes its return!?

American talent Leah DiZon (38) updated her Instagram for the first time in a year, and her beauty, unchanged from back then, is creating a buzz.

“In 2005, while staying in Los Angeles, Leah posted her own photos on her personal website. Within just one year, the number of hits on Google’s search engine reached 2 million. Encouraged by fans, she approached Japanese talent agencies herself, which led to her arrival in Japan in 2006. This sparked what can only be described as a ‘Black Ship Arrival,’ creating a huge impact.

Soon after, she graced the covers of various magazines, and in October, she released her first photobook, ‘Petit Amie.’ In February 2007, just six months later, her second photobook, ‘Hello! Leah,’ was released. The combined sales of both books surpassed an astonishing 300,000 copies.” (Gravure magazine editor)

However, in October 2008, she shocked everyone by announcing her sudden marriage to a stylist in Tokyo and revealed that she was four months pregnant. Within just over two years, she retired from gravure.

Among the most memorable, however, was her adorable appearance during pitching practice before her first official pro baseball game. The Too Cute Sitting Down Scene

On April 13, 2007, Leah DiZon, known as the “Black Ship of the Gravure World,” made her debut at the first pitch ceremony of the professional baseball game between the Lotte Marines and the Seibu Lions. The event was held to commemorate her role as the commercial character for Lotte’s new product, “Rich Fruits Chocolate,” and her jersey number was “417,” in reference to the product’s release date of April 17.

“I’ve never thrown a ball before,” Leah said.

During practice before the actual event, when the ball she threw veered towards the reporters, she sat down in surprise and shyly smiled. However, when she stepped up to the mound for the main event in a revealing belly-baring uniform, she regained her composure. She teased the crowd by shaking her head at the catcher’s sign before dramatically winding up and pitching! Although the pitch was a high, one-bounce throw, her cute pitching form had both the audience and the players smitten.

“Is a one-bounce pitch a good thing? A bad thing? I think it’s okay on my part. I was nervous, but I had fun,” she said.

Even the press was swooning.

Later, in 2009, she gave birth to a daughter. After divorcing her husband in 2010, she moved with her daughter to New York. In 2019, it was reported that she had resumed her music career in Japan with the release of her mini-album “FOR THE WORLD,” but there have been no updates on her activities for the past year. Her fans are still enamored by her beauty. The “Black Ship” may be making a return soon.
