“Could it be that I’m popular?”

For seven nights and eight days, sixteen beautiful men and women are divided between two islands and fall in love. IIn the reality dating show Shuffle Island Season 5 (ABEMA), the participants were captivated by Anon-san. In the current issue of Friday, she showcases her stunning visuals in a photo spread. We asked her about the show.

“Until the show started, I never imagined I would be popular. But when various men showed interest, I realized, ‘Maybe I am popular?’

Of course, there were some men I wasn’t particularly interested in, and I struggled with how to gently let them down.”

In “Shuffle,” as people move between islands, multiple romances blossom. However, love is never straightforward. Anon-san also found herself struggling in a love triangle, competing for one man’s affection.

“I tend to be the type who rushes forward without considering the other person when I fall in love. I realized I’m not good at handling love triangles.

There was a scene where a rival girl saw me with the guy I liked. I was completely unaware of it and was surprised to find out about it through the broadcast.”

Some girls even ended up crying.

The outcome of love is a genuine contest with no script. Anon-san reflected on what she gained from the show:

“Seeing the other girls, I discovered new approaches to romance. Just watching was like studying love, and more than anything, it made me want to fall in love.

I also feel like I became a more mature version of myself. On that island, I truly fell in love, and I could sense that the other person was genuinely interested in me too. There were girls who cried because they couldn’t understand the other person’s feelings or couldn’t sleep; everyone was sincerely in love. Some people even ended up kissing when their feelings intensified, and I was surprised to learn through the broadcast that even those two were involved in that!”
