Urgent Serials] Yu-chami shows off her unexpected skill in marine sports in Miyakojima Island!

Yu-chami’s 2nd photo book, “Yu-chami Summer,” has been highly anticipated as it nears its release date of September 4 (Wed.).

In this series, we are bringing you scenes from the photo shoot on Miyakojima Island. This time, we caught up with Yu-chami as she tried her hand at marine sports in the crystal clear waters.

I’m good at SUP!

At a meeting before leaving for the location shoot, Yuchami said, ” I want to try SUP in the sea of Miyakojima! I want to do SUP in the sea of Miyakojima!

SUP stands for “Stand Up Paddleboard,” a marine sport in which one stands on a surfboard-like board floating on the surface of the sea and paddles with a paddle in one’s hand to move forward smoothly on the surface of the sea.

I’ve done SUP a few times before for a TV show, so I’m pretty good at it! 　 When I was chased by a hunter on a Jet Ski, I paddled so hard that I got away.

Just as she said, Yuchami got on the board on the surface of the sea, paddled with a calm and composed expression on her face, and started to paddle away from the sea.

The transparent board called “clear SUP” allowed us to see the bottom of the ocean through the board. As we moved above the school of swimming fish, Yu-chami would occasionally crouch down on the board and peer curiously at the seafloor.

Yu-chami’s skill was real, and she was going so fast that the boat carrying the cameraman who was chasing her could not keep up with her. After enjoying a short walk on the water, she returned to the beach with a satisfied smile on her face.
