On June 2, just after 3:00 p.m., police officers in suits were standing guard around the Yaesu Central Exit of Tokyo Station. There was also a young gang member carrying a briefcase that appeared to contain steel plates. Passersby were curious.
Shortly before 16:00, a man came out of the station, surrounded by strong men. He was Tsukasa Shinobu, head of the Yamaguchi Gumi VI. Tsukasa was dressed in a gray suit, black tie, and sunglasses. Waiting passersby were stunned.
