Moehmi Kushiro’s resignation is a “hit” on Fuji and Akiko Kuji?
Former Fuji Television announcer Moemi Kushiro will leave the company at the end of March. She will now belong to Yoshimoto Kogyo and focus on appearances on “BS Yoshimoto,” which will open on March 21.
During her announcer days, Hisashiro gained popularity as an assistant MC for “Sanma’s Comedy Improvement Committee” and “Wide Show,” but on July 1, 2009, she was suddenly transferred to the network station that connects Fuji and its affiliate stations. The transfer was announced.
The reason for the move was suspected involvement in a “stealth” report by the Weekly Bunshun in April of last year, in which a number of female announcers were said to have been involved. In June 2008, Hisayo got into a fight with her current husband, YouTuber Haru-kun, which resulted in a police incident, leading to speculation that the company felt threatened by a scandal involving Hisayo’s friendships and private life.
The truth is that neither the company nor Hisayo is talking about it. However, it is clear that Hisayo herself was not very happy with the move.
For example, Akiko Kuji became Kushiyo’s successor as an assistant in the “Improvement Committee. It was obvious to everyone that she was inferior to Kushiro, and the blatant choice of her was clearly seen as a punitive move.
Kuji will also be leaving the company on April 30. She will return to the agency where she worked as a model when she was a college student, and will work as a TV personality and actress from now on.
In an episode of “Kougi Committee” to commemorate Kuji’s graduation from the show, Kim-chan from the comedy duo Onigoe Tomahawk said to Kuji, “Shut up! It won’t hurt a millimeter if you quit Fuji Television! I received a poignant comment, “I’m sorry, but I can’t help it. Of course, this was Onikoshi’s promised story, but Kuji cried.
The company was taken aback by his inability to respond. If it had been Kushiro, she would have easily responded with laughter. However, Kuji was still seriously angry after that. I don’t think she would be able to do well in the freelance world, which is more demanding than that of station announcers…” (Variety show insider)
As for Kuji’s replacement on the “Improvement Committee,” it is said that voices were heard not only on the Internet but also within the station calling for “Kushiro’s reappointment,” but now Kushiro has also left the station.
The announcement was made on March 7, the day Fuji’s reorganization press conference was held online. The press conference was a big deal because it was Fuji’s first major reorganization in seven years, with 13 new programs, but all the focus was on the news of Hisayo’s departure.
Many employees felt that the timing of the resignation report and the fact that Hisayo would be affiliated with Yoshimoto Kogyo were clearly an attempt to take advantage of Fuji Television.
She may look quiet at first glance, but in fact she is a strong-willed person who is able to step forward and take the lead on TV shows. That is why Sanma Akashiya and Hitoshi Matsumoto of “Downtown” liked her so much. I have no doubt that she will be successful at BS Yoshimoto, and perhaps she intends to make Fuji and Kuji look back at her by once again becoming active as an announcer…” (A former Fuji Television insider)
Fuji Television Network has been retired by two such popular female announcers. However, some people within the company say that, like Onikoshi Tomahawk’s painful tweets, “it doesn’t hurt a millimeter….
