Audrey Toshiaki Kasuga’s “Desparate Acting in a Suit” Leaves a Powerful Presence!
He had been recuperating, but he was back on the scene!
One day in early February, in a park in Daiba (Minato-ku), Tokyo, where a cold sea breeze was blowing, a man so stout that the buttons on his suit looked like they would pop off was standing, he’s Toshiaki Kasuga (43) of Audrey.
Apparently, he was filming a short drama to be aired on the popular variety show “Goukai TV Sukatto Japan” (Fuji Television Network). Next to Kasuga, dressed in a suit, was actor Takashi Sasano (73), who was dressed as the show’s famous character, “Grandma Scatto.”
In January, Kasuga and his partner Masayasu Wakabayashi (43) were infected with the coronavirus. After two weeks of recuperation, they had just returned to work a few days before this shooting.
In recent years, “Scatto Japan” has been suffering from low ratings and there have been news that the show would be terminated, but it was finally decided that the show would end in March. Kasuga has been appearing in short dramas for a long time , so I’m sure he has mixed feelings about the cancellation.
During the filming, Kasuga and Sasano were chatting peacefully. However, when the camera rolls, she tightens his face and gives an enthusiastic performance with a serious look in his eyes. Perhaps he was not satisfied with his performance because every time camera stops rolling he will bit his lower lip and with disappointed look on his face.
Wiht his acting experience in this program, is he aiming to become a full-fledged actor in the future?
