The popular series is coming back!

While most of the commercial sponsors of Fuji Television Network (Fuji TV) are still holding off on their commercials, a sequel to the popular drama series “The Second Love from the End” starring Kyoko Koizumi (59) has been decided to be broadcast in its signature drama slot, the Tsuki 9 slot.

The title of the drama is “Soku, Soku, Soku kara niban no koi” (“Second Love from the End”). Although some had reported difficulties in filming on location, it has been decided that the series will be broadcast as planned. In addition to Koizumi, the cast includes familiar faces from the series, such as Nakai Kiichi (63), Sakaguchi Kenji (49), Uchida Yuki (49), and Iijima Naoko (57). The script will also continue to be written by Keiwa Okada (66), known for his work on NHK’s “Hiyokko” TV series.

Although viewer ratings for the Tsuki 9 slot have been sluggish recently, this sequel to a popular series is targeting the middle-aged and older viewers who still have TV viewing habits, so it is likely to get high ratings,” said a TV magazine reporter.

The series is a romantic “coming-of-age” comedy set in the ancient capital of Kamakura. The series depicts a mature love story between a 45-year-old single woman (Koizumi) and a 50-year-old single man (Nakai). Both “The Second Love from the Last” and “The Second Love from the Last” (’14) were broadcast in the 10 p.m. Thursday slot.’ The average household rating for all 11 episodes in 2012 was 12.4% (according to Video Research, Kanto region, the same below), and the average for all 11 episodes in ’14 was 12.9%.

This will be the first new series in 11 years that fans of the series have been waiting for, and Koizumi’s first starring role in a Gekkan 9 series in 30 years, since “Love Has Not Yet Begun,” also written by Okada in 1995, but the environment surrounding Koizumi has changed dramatically since then.
