Hollywood Zakoshishou, who “doesn’t go to drinking parties where women are present,” talks seriously about his “work theory
His dream show starts in his hometown, Shizuoka!

The pin-up comedian, who has taken TV and theaters by storm with his eccentric style of comedy as typified by “exaggerated mimicry,” squeezed out a few words with an unusually serious expression on his face.
I’m very moved,” he said. The staff at SBS (Shizuoka Broadcasting System) told me that I could do whatever I wanted, and I can only be grateful. The staff at SBS (Shizuoka Broadcasting System) told me that I could do whatever I wanted to do, and for that I am very grateful.
Hollywood Zakoshisho (50) began broadcasting “Zakoshi’s Crown Crown Crown” (SBS) in November 2012. Although the program is local to Shizuoka, it is streamed online on TVer after each broadcast.
The program is broadcast locally in Shizuoka, but each episode is streamed online on TVer.
The show, which focuses on comedy and location shooting in Shizuoka, also showcases the same high-tension style as in the past. However, he is looking ahead to a new frontier, saying, “I would like to pursue something new.
In the past, my appearance pattern has been to appear in one corner of a show, make a big scene, make a few moves, and leave after a short time,” he says. But I don’t want to keep that kind of tension for 30 minutes on my own show. I want to make changes so that the viewers will not get bored and will continue to be entertained.
In 2004, he won the “R-1 Guranpuri” competition. He has won the popular TV variety show “Documental” three times, and has served as a judge for “R-1” for four consecutive years since 2009. Surprisingly, however, Zakoshi’s breakthrough came late, in the 24th year after his debut, and he celebrated his 50th birthday in February 2012.
He said, “Fifty is a milestone. From now on, I want to concentrate on ‘what I truly want to do. I sometimes receive offers to work as an actor, but I am too shy to act seriously (laughs).
Right now, of all my work, this crown program has the highest priority. For the time being, it is scheduled to air once a month until March, but I hear it will continue if it is well received. I have a crazy strong feeling that I don’t want the show to end. I want this to be a program that lasts a lifetime.”
More than criticism, he fears “indifference.
He is more stoic than anyone else in his approach to comedy. Zakoshi confided with a serious look in his eyes, “Where does the driving force come from?
I don’t have anything else I want to do besides comedy. That’s why I really hate it when I can’t do comedy because of a scandal. As SHIMOFURI MYOJO’s Goshina (31) said, there are a lot of people who have been disappearing from the entertainment industry recently after causing problems with “chinbo. That’s why I don’t go to drinking parties with women. I have wanted to do comedy since I was a student, and there was a time when I thought, ‘If I can’t do it, I may as well die. I am prepared to die with comedy.”
With a grim expression on his face, Zakoshi continued, “You must always make an impact on the audience. Although it is hard to imagine from his sometimes insane performances, Zakoshi says that he does not miss his daily ego search.
As soon as I wake up, I search for myself on social networking sites. Whenever I have free time, all I do is ego-search (laughs). Even if there are only critical comments on social networking sites, it is better than no response at all. After the first broadcast of “Zakoshi’s Crown Zakoshi’s Crown Zakoshi,” I found comments like, “You’re really aggressive,” and “The opening theme is by Denki Groove, who are from my hometown in Shizuoka, so it’s really Shizuoka.
Zakoshi, who emphasized many times during the interview that “you have to do the kind of comedy you really want to do, the kind with weight on it,” has reached his 50th birthday, and the perfect environment has been created for him.
