Renho (left) defeated in 3rd place, while Shinji Ishimaru, now becoming the era’s favorite, took 2nd place.

Renho, who lost in the Tokyo governor race, is angry.

In the recent election, Governor Yuriko Koike won by a margin of double the votes, and former Akita Takata City Mayor Shinji Ishimaru even surpassed me, resulting in a third-place finish. After losing, Renho addressed her supporters.

“I would like to take some time to think things over carefully, but I believe my lack of ability is the main reason.”

She said weakly.

Renho, who has removed her parliamentary badge, is now just an ordinary person. She seems to be releasing her frustrations by responding strongly to posts that criticize her.

Immediately in the spotlight was former Miyazaki Prefecture Governor Hideo Higashikokubaru. He, who referred to Renho as an “old friend” on a program, spoke about the reasons for her defeat.

“Many people find her unpleasant on a personal level.”

Analyze this. Renhō-san posted it on X (formerly Twitter).

“This person is not my friend.”

She responded.

“A friend who I have never met personally and whose contact information I do not know comments on me. I am exposed to imaginative speculations in weekly magazines. I will not succumb to the humiliation of having to bow to power to be recognized.”

Since then, Higashikokubaru has not mentioned Renho again.

TV producer Dave Spector posted his usual joke:

“Renho turns into a TV host”

He posted this pun, and then Renho responded.

“Well, what does that mean, Dave? Feel free to laugh at my struggles or my attitude as an individual.

We haven’t met for decades. I would appreciate it if you wouldn’t deny those who support me and vote for me.”

She gave him a stern warning.

He also took a jab at the empress of the Kansai TV scene, Emiko Umeba.

On the July 14th broadcast of Yomiuri TV’s “Kanuma & Takada’s Kugizuke!” (a local Kansai show), Umeba said:

“If I were on stage and Renho was sitting right in the front, it would be difficult. She wouldn’t be laughing.”

“Renho is tough. She shows off her intelligence too much. Although I’ve never met her.”

She made such comments.

Renho responded:

“Is this your sense of humor? Is it a joke? Comedy? Even if I were sitting in the front row, I wouldn’t be able to laugh.”

This reaction has led to criticism of Umeba, who is speaking based on her image rather than personal experience. According to a political insider:

“Although it may seem like she is acting out, it appears that Renho is still deeply shocked by her poor performance in the gubernatorial election and is not in high spirits. There were expectations that she would perform well and run in the next general election from a Tokyo district, but she seems unable to think about the future at the moment.”

It is revealed that:

With Renho’s extensive career, one might expect to see offers for appearances on news and information programs, but unlike Ishimaru, who came in second in the gubernatorial election and is frequently seen on TV, Renho is rarely seen on television. According to a TV industry insider:

“Her strong liberal image is a major factor. Her strong personal presence could potentially affect the overall image of a program. In reality, she is not unpleasant at all when you meet her, but.”

If that’s the case, it’s understandable that offers are concentrated on Ishimaru, who is still unknown. His freshness is valuable to the TV industry.”

After the gubernatorial election, Ishimaru has appeared on programs like “Good Morning!” (TV Asahi), “All Night Fujiko” (Fuji TV), and “Sunday Japon” (TBS).

On Soko Made Ittemii Committee NP, produced by Yomiuri TV in Osaka, he had a heated debate with former Akashi City Mayor Boho Izumi and others. His controversial suggestion of polygamy as a measure against population decline stirred significant debate.

“While he did say it was not feasible at the moment when properly asked, the term ‘polygamy’ alone stirred controversy and went viral. This indicates that many people are paying attention to Ishimaru’s statements. The TV industry is keen to capitalize on this opportunity and is trying to secure Ishimaru.” (according to the TV insider).

Initially seen as a potential one-on-one contender with Governor Koike, Renho’s position shifted drastically after coming in third, highlighting a stark contrast in their fortunes.
