My specialty is Shorinji Kempo, and I hold a black belt in it. I started when I was in the fourth grade at my father’s suggestion and continued until I moved to Tokyo. I wonder if my experience from that time has been used to some extent in special effects. Since the filming of “Kamen Rider Geets” started, I have not been able to go to training, but I am aiming to become a one and only actress who can not only act but also perform actions!

Profile Kokoro Aoshima was born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1999. She was selected as the heroine of the drama “ZERO -DRAGON BLOOD-” (TV Tokyo), which led to a number of high-profile roles. She is currently starring in “Masked Rider Geets” (TV Asahi, Sunday 9:00 a.m.).

Aoshima’s slender and dainty looks give no impression of the active specialties she possesses. Originally aspiring to become a nursery school teacher, she started her entertainment career as an actress and model when she participated in the 7th “Toho Cinderella” audition, which produced the Kamishiraishi sisters and Minami Hamabe.

She said, “The final screening was a camp screening, and I was so nervous that I was dizzy from the moment I entered the venue. …… I was surrounded by girls who had worked hard since childhood to become actresses. I felt that I couldn’t possibly compete with them. The pressure was so great that I got sick and had to withdraw from the competition.

To commemorate my participation, I went to see the Grand Prix presentation, and on my way home, someone from the office asked me if I would like to take lessons at their place. I was happy to be asked, but I was worried about whether I should be given such an opportunity when there were so many others who had not been selected. But then I thought to myself, “I will not give up and try my best again so that I will not be ashamed of my friends who unfortunately lost their jobs,” and I made up my mind to seriously pursue acting. Whenever I feel like I’m falling behind in my work, I remember my classmates and encourage myself.

In the first two years, she says, she sometimes lost her voice due to the stress caused by the unfamiliar lessons. After overcoming these difficulties, she was cast in the drama “ZERO -DRAGON BLOOD-” (TV Tokyo). Although it was her first appearance in a drama series, she was cast as the heroine and attracted a lot of attention.

She has since appeared in a number of high-profile productions, including the drama “We’re crazy” (NTV) and the movie “Don’t mess with the video lab! She was finally selected for the role of Tsumuri, the heroine of “Masked Rider Geets” (TV Asahi), the latest in the tokusatsu series. She has been selected for the role of Tsumuri, the heroine of “Masked Rider Geets” (TV Asahi), the latest in the tokusatsu series.

The producer said, “I knew I was the right person for the role when I walked into the first screening room. The Tsumuri I play is a bright, high-spirited girl. She is the opposite of my shy self! I was so stiff and nervous during the audition, so maybe that made an impression on me (laughs).

I was the oldest among the five regular actors, so I was prepared that I had to lead them, but now I feel like I’m following them (laughs). (Laughs.) The other four members are all cheerful at heart. I tend to be the one who gets nervous, so I was grateful for that. This work will be produced and aired over the span of a year, so what will happen in the future is unknown to us as well. I am excited every time I receive a script and every time I perform.

When asked about her dreams for the future, she speaks with a sparkle in her eyes.

My main goal is to act in a film written by Kudo Kankuro someday! In Kudo-kan’s works, the characters work very hard, but for some reason that is very interesting. I love the exquisite balance between the two. I especially like “Tiger & Dragon”! I would like to act in that world someday, and in order to do so, I would like to continue to play my current role with even greater professionalism.
