Why “vague anxiety” became “woozy anxiety” for Yura Kikino, whose first film as a retired sexy actress was released
She will be the heroine in a movie to be released in February.
The girl I played in this movie, Yui, works as a call girl and the job of a sexy actress are a bit similar.
Yura Kikino, 25, who retired as a sexy actress in August of this year, says that her job is a bit similar to that of the girl she played in this movie, Yui, a delicatessen. She plays the heroine in the movie “The Summer of the Catfish” (directed by Kyuya Nakagawa), which will be released on February 8, 2013. She says that although she felt a similarity with the “sex” related job of a delivery service worker, the character was different from her own.
In her case, she did not receive proper love from her parents when she was a child, and this led to her job as a call girl. I thought that might be a big difference between her and myself. That is why I thought about the core of her in my own way when I was shooting the film. I think it was a good experience for me to be able to face the role in that way.
In 2005, she made her debut as a sexy actress with the catchphrase “infinite transparency” as an exclusive actress for S-One. From August 2006 to December 2009, she was a member of “Ebisu Muscats” and has been active in gravure and variety shows. However, she retired in August of this year because she “wanted to focus on acting. We asked her about the movie and what she is doing now after retiring as a sexy actress.
The film is an ensemble coming-of-age drama set in a factory in a regional city, and tells the story of one summer in the lives of a group of young people who have trouble living. The story unfolds as Yui, played by Kikino, searches for her father who separated from her when she was a child, and ends up spending time with two of her former part-time friends, Tatsuo (Yuto Nakayama) and his childhood friend Tetsuya (Ayumu Matsuyama), who happened to be back in their hometown.
She has appeared in two films so far, but says that the roles she has played in the past have been rather close to her true self, making it easy for her to play them. However, as she said at the beginning of the film, the role she played this time, Yui, required a different approach.
For example, the part where she is unable to respond to the love she receives from others, and is stubborn, is perhaps similar to mine,” she said. But I am not as stubborn as she is, so there was a part of me that wondered why she would do such a thing. But there were parts I could understand, so I thought about the parts I didn’t understand and tried to get closer to her. The director didn’t make any major changes, so maybe it wasn’t the right answer he had in mind, but I think it was the right answer.
The Dilemma of “People Who Make Sex Their Business”
One of the most impressive scenes in the work is the one after Yui and Tatsuo are hitched. Yui rebuffs Tatsuo’s words out of consideration for Yui, saying to Tatsuo, “You don’t know anything about me, and you say that just because I’ve done it once ……,” and the scene quickly turns nasty. Kikino feels that she “somehow understood Yui’s feelings in this scene.
Yui is also a delinquent, but I think the value of sex to someone whose job is sex is very valuable, just as it is to a normal person when they do it with someone they like. However, Yui’s dilemma of not being able to face Tatsuo 100% because of that, or rather, that part of her dilemma, was something I sympathized with from the time I read the script, so I think I was able to express it.”
In the film, including the above scene, Kikino also acts in a wet scene, but how does the wet scene in a general film differ from that in an adult film?
I think they are totally different. In general, each action, pause, and facial expression in a wet scene has a lot of meaning. (That scene (with Tatsuo) may have been a moment, but it was a time when Tatsuo and Yui were able to forgive each other, so I really wanted to cherish that time.
I always think about it as I work, because there are more things to think about and pay attention to in general films than in scenes with sexy actresses. Because my previous work was just work, I felt that if I let my guard down a little, I would end up not expressing myself, so I was careful about that.
On the other hand, as a sexy actress, I think many people would like to see the “real” side of me, so I tried to value that side. There are people who are great at acting in such scenes, but in my case, I thought it was different.
I want to be “tomorrow’s energy” for those who see my work.
In a column published in the web media in September, she wrote about her “vague fears for the future.
In a column published on the web media in September, she wrote about her “vague fears for the future”: “Since my retirement, I have been able to do one play. I have more opportunities to talk with various actors, and I think I can concentrate on acting now. I enjoy acting.
But when I was a sexy actress, I always had a job lined up. That gave me a sense of security. Now that’s completely gone, and I can’t always see what the future holds, so I think that’s what made me feel vaguely anxious.
However, as I talk to you today in the interview, I can see a bright future in which I hope to be involved in many more productions after this one. Perhaps my anxiety is a little less now than it was when I wrote the column.
Since her days as a sexy actress, she has appeared in movies and on the stage, and “about three years ago, I started to feel that I wanted to be involved in acting. She says with a twinkle in her eye that acting is “fun because there is no right answer. So what will she aim for in the future?
When I was a sexy actress, I had the idea that I wanted my films to inspire the people who saw them, so I often wonder how that will work out when I become an actor. Through my films and other works, I hope that the viewers will think about various things and become energized for tomorrow (laughs). I hope to be in many such films in the future.
Since I retired from being a sexy actress, I would like to work in a wide range of genres that I was not able to work in as a sexy actress. I have always thought that I would be very happy if I could act in films that my parents would feel comfortable watching. I have caused them a lot of trouble in the past.
Personally, I want to be in …… Kamen Rider (laughs). I like it. It’s a work that both parents and children can watch. It’s almost like an ambition, but it’s a big goal.
Five readers will be chosen by drawing to receive Yura Kikino’s autograph.
