It has been four months since you retired from being a sexy actress. How are you spending your days now?

She will be the heroine in a movie to be released in February.

The girl I played in this movie, Yui, works as a call girl and the job of a sexy actress are a bit similar.

Yura Kikino, 25, who retired as a sexy actress in August of this year, says that her job is a bit similar to that of the girl she played in this movie, Yui, a delicatessen. She plays the heroine in the movie “The Summer of the Catfish” (directed by Kyuya Nakagawa), which will be released on February 8, 2013. She says that although she felt a similarity with the “sex” related job of a delivery service worker, the character was different from her own.

In her case, she did not receive proper love from her parents when she was a child, and this led to her job as a call girl. I thought that might be a big difference between her and myself. That is why I thought about the core of her in my own way when I was shooting the film. I think it was a good experience for me to be able to face the role in that way.

In 2005, she made her debut as a sexy actress with the catchphrase “infinite transparency” as an exclusive actress for S-One. From August 2006 to December 2009, she was a member of “Ebisu Muscats” and has been active in gravure and variety shows. However, she retired in August of this year because she “wanted to focus on acting. We asked her about the movie and what she is doing now after retiring as a sexy actress.

The film is an ensemble coming-of-age drama set in a factory in a regional city, and tells the story of one summer in the lives of a group of young people who have trouble living. The story unfolds as Yui, played by Kikino, searches for her father who separated from her when she was a child, and ends up spending time with two of her former part-time friends, Tatsuo (Yuto Nakayama) and his childhood friend Tetsuya (Ayumu Matsuyama), who happened to be back in their hometown.

She has appeared in two films so far, but says that the roles she has played in the past have been rather close to her true self, making it easy for her to play them. However, as she said at the beginning of the film, the role she played this time, Yui, required a different approach.

For example, the part where she is unable to respond to the love she receives from others, and is stubborn, is perhaps similar to mine,” she said. But I am not as stubborn as she is, so there was a part of me that wondered why she would do such a thing. But there were parts I could understand, so I thought about the parts I didn’t understand and tried to get closer to her. The director didn’t make any major changes, so maybe it wasn’t the right answer he had in mind, but I think it was the right answer.
