Yo Oizumi, Tetsuro Degawa, and Rocchi Members Dine at High-End Japanese Restaurant
Too luxurious a boys’ party!
The black pick-up trucks arrived one after another to drop off the VIPs. On that day, too, the high-class Japanese restaurant, which charges from 30,000 yen per person, was crowded in the evening.
It was a little past 7:00 p.m. when Mitsuyoshi Uchimura (60) of “UCCHAN NANCHAN” appeared in front of the restaurant among the celebrities in suits, who appeared to be executives of companies. A few minutes later, Tetsuro Izukawa (60) was escorted into the restaurant by a courtesy car.
The two, who call each other “Chen” and “Tetsuchan,” have been friends since the days of “SHA-LA-LA,” a theatrical troupe formed in 1987 and chaired by Izukawa.
(NTV), the members of the program gathered at a mountain lodge in the Yatsugatake Mountains on the day before Uchimura’s birthday to celebrate his 60th birthday together. About four hours after entering the restaurant, Uchimura left the restaurant and found himself in the company of Degawa, Soichi Nakaoka (46) of “Loch” fame, and super-successful TV personality and actor Hiroshi Oizumi (51).
Uchimura, Izukawa, and Nakaoka are Itte Q members, but it is probably Uchimura who is connected to …… Oizumi.” Since co-hosting the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen in 2008, Uchimura has been deepening his friendship with Oizumi, including going to see Oizumi’s live performances” (sports newspaper desk).
Uchimura was seen off by the three as he headed home in a cab, while Izukawa and Nakaoka took off their hats and bowed to Oizumi.
The “sense of familiarity” that made possible the miracle of continued sales
Since the legendary variety show “Yume de Aitara” (Fuji TV, 1988-91), in which Uchimura and Downtown co-starred, “Uccchan Nanchan no Yurukareta Yaranai! (Fuji TV), “Uccchan Nanchan no Urinari‼” (Nippon TV), and the “Laughing Dog” series (Fuji TV), Uchimura has always been at the forefront of the entertainment industry. His band “Pocket Biscuits,” which was born out of a TV show project, has had a string of million-seller hits, he has swum across the Straits of Dover, and his wide range of activities is characterized by the fact that he puts his own body on the line.
(A senior executive at an entertainment production company). According to a staff member at a production company, it is the “overwhelming sense of familiarity” that has made possible the miracle of nearly 40 years of continuous sales.
Even though he is a highly respected MC, he is not too forward and takes great pains to create an environment in which junior and young talents can easily speak up. If there is a staff member who is ill, he takes care of his health. Because he is so considerate, the atmosphere in the studio is great when Mr. Uchimura is the MC. Because his comedy doesn’t hurt anyone, there are no complaints. He is too much appreciated by the program staff.
Fifteen successful comedians will gather for “Uchimura Produce” (TV Asahi), a one-night-only revival on September 28 to celebrate Uchimura’s 60th birthday, including former young comedians “Samasazu,” “Bananaman,” and Hiroyuki Ariyoshi (50), who were discovered by and loved by Uchimura.
Miracles were bound to happen.
