Alice Hirose and Maeda Go Atsushi Seen Together in Taito Ward Park
She has appeared in a succession of TV dramas since the year before last, including her first starring role in Fuji's Gekkan 9 series with "366 Days.
Under the strong sunlight since morning, actress Alice Hirose (29) is preparing for filming. Recently, Monday night dramas have returned to traditional romantic themes, but achieving a blockbuster straightforward love story in the Reiwa era is quite challenging. Amidst this, Alice has been consistently appearing in romantic dramas since two years ago.
“Her younger sister, Suzu Hirose (26), made her debut and quickly starred in notable films like ‘Our Little Sister’. She focused on acting in movies and began looking overseas, serving as an ambassador for high-end brands. Meanwhile, Alice struggled with her direction and even contemplated retiring from the entertainment industry at one point.” (film industry insider)
In the NHK morning drama “Warotenka” aired in 2017, Alice Hirose auditioned for the lead role but was not selected. However, she found her niche by playing a female comedian who becomes the romantic rival of the heroine, leveraging a sense of familiarity. It seemed she had found her strength, but while playing a comedic character, she struggled with comparing herself to her sister and dealing with the imbalance in her mental and physical health, openly discussing her past struggles with eating disorders such as binge eating.
“Since two years ago, she has been emphasizing closeness and has been conscious of acting naturally to resonate with viewers of the same age group. This approach has paid off, and she has been praised within the industry for appearing in three dramas, including leading roles, in the past year. I think she will continue to establish herself as a ‘drama actress’ in the future.” (an entertainment agency insider)
After 16 years of hard work, will she achieve a breakthrough before turning thirty?
