<p>For the past 20 years, Katagiri has been practicing an activity called &#8220;Clay Road&#8221; in which he creates artworks based on the concept of &#8220;heaping clay onto all kinds of things, including stationery, daily necessities, and electrical appliances. About 380 pieces were gathered, including those works and Katagiri&#8217;s paintings from his childhood. As this was his largest solo exhibition ever, he also created his largest work ever. Katagiri showed a huge work, &#8220;Park Demon,&#8221; measuring 5 meters wide and 4 meters high, which he said he had been working on until the last minute. The motif of the work was an octopus park in Miyashiro-machi, Saitama Prefecture, where Katagiri was born and raised, and it was made with 6.77 million yen raised through crowdfunding.</p>
<p>Mr. Katagiri has also held solo exhibitions in Taiwan. When asked by the moderator where he would like to hold a solo exhibition in the future, Katagiri said, &#8220;I would like to do one in New York or Europe.</p>
