<p>Actress Miho Kanno (45) will play the lead role in the drama series &#8220;Yuria Sensei no Akai Ito&#8221; (TV Asahi), which will start in October.</p>
<p>This is the first time in 24 years since &#8220;The Miracle of Love&#8221; in 1999 that Kanno has played the main character in a TV Asahi drama series. This time, Kanno will play a housewife married to an unsuccessful novelist. She has been cast in her first major role in a long time, and made the following comment:</p>

<p>Kanno, who made her debut in the third year of junior high school, has had a long entertainment career spanning more than 30 years.</p>
<p><strong> She made her debut in the entertainment industry in 1992 as a member of &#8220;Sakurako Club Sakura-gumi,&#8221; a unit within the &#8220;Sakurako Club&#8221; program (TV Asahi). Her acting debut was in the drama &#8220;Twins Teacher&#8221; (TV Asahi) the following year. Since then, she has starred in numerous hit movies such as &#8220;Give Me Love&#8221; (Fuji Television Network) and &#8220;Working Man&#8221; (Nippon Television Network).</strong></p>
<p><strong>&#8220;She married actor Masato Sakai in April &#8217;13. They had their first child in August 2003 and their second child in December 2006. Their family life seems to be happy, with one of them taking care of the household chores when the other is busy with work,&#8221; said an employee at a commercial key station.</strong></p>
<p>FRIDAY has been following Kanno since after her debut as an actress. She and her husband attended a dinner party with Yuki Amami, rode a mamachari bicycle with a handmade mask, and had simple dates with Masato Sakai. <p>It was April 2001 when Kanno and Sakai, soon after their marriage, attended a dinner party hosted by Yuki Amami. The meeting was held at a fashionable dining bar in Shirokane, Tokyo.</p>
<p><strong> Mr. Amami and Ms. Kanno are senior and junior members of the same office, and they are very close friends, having co-starred in the drama &#8220;Marriage is Not an Occasion&#8221; (Fuji Television Network). At the day&#8217;s party, Ms. Amami and other close acquaintances celebrated the marriage of Mr. Kanno, whom they adore.</strong></p>
<p><strong> Ms. Kanno, who was dressed in a green miniskirt, bowed to Amami with a big smile on her face after the dinner party was over. Ms. Amami put out her hand and shook it with Mr. Sakai&#8217;s. &#8220;I asked for a cute little sister,&#8221; she said. She seemed to be saying something like, &#8216;I asked you to take care of my cute little sister,'&#8221; said an entertainment production official.</strong></p>

<p>It was in April 2008 that I saw Kanno&#8217;s true face as a good mother.</p>
<p>It was a pleasantly sunny afternoon. A mama bicycle was dashing along a shopping street in Tokyo. The woman on the bicycle was wearing a handmade, patterned cloth mask and pedaling strongly, her white pleated skirt fluttering. Child seats were attached to the front and rear of the bicycle, and in the basket were foodstuffs such as qinggengcai (Chinese cabbage) bought at the supermarket.</p>
<p>The owner of the bicycle is Kanno.</p>
<p>She and Sakai have two children together and are struggling to raise them. She sped off on her bicycle and rode off to her home, where her child was waiting for her.</p>
<p><strong>Sakai was extremely busy filming &#8220;Hanzawa Naoki&#8221; (TBS), a drama series in which he stars, at the time. Ms. Kanno was in charge of everything, from managing the family finances to doing housework and socializing with other parents. She did so, maybe because she wanted her husband to focus on his work and not on the house. Ms. Kanno encouraged Mr. Sakai to accept the leading role in &#8220;Hanzawa Naoki.&#8221;</strong></p>
<p>Kanno struggles with housework and work. She leads a full life in both her personal and professional life, and returns to TV Asahi as the lead in a drama series for the first time in 24 years.</p>
