Ryosuke Yamada– More than Ready to be the Lead in a Suspense drama
Mr. Stoic" of Johnny's
While fall cool dramas were being cranked out one after another, the filming of Fuji Television’s next full-fledged suspense drama had begun.
It was Ryosuke Yamada, 29, of “Hey! Say! JUMP,” who was filming at around 12:30 p.m. in early August under the piercing sunlight. On that day, he was at a certain park in Saitama Prefecture for the filming of the drama “Dear Me, with the Intent to Kill” (Fuji TV).
Yamada was concentrating on his performance without changing his mood despite the stormy wind. Even after the cut was made, he seemed to be quietly thinking about the next scene.
Yamada is the center of “Hey! Say! JUMP” and is famous among Johnny’s for his stoicism. When he was chosen to play the lead role in the movie “Fullmetal Alchemist,” he gained 15 kg and changed his body to prepare for the role, which made a buzz among the fans. He is also a professional-level cook and gamer, and in recent years has gained an increasing number of male fans. Yamada is dexterous and hardworking, but he is aiming for even greater heights in his career.
“He has recently played many comical roles, and he has also worked hard as a tease. He is also gradually gaining recognition for his roles in other films such as “The Miracle at the Namiya Zakkaten” released in ’17 and “Burning Sword” in ’21. He is still an actor who can play leading roles, but to improve his skills as an actor, he needs to gain more experience in a variety of films. I think he is working on this drama with the intention of becoming an actor following in the footsteps of Kazuya Ninomiya and Junichi Okada,” said entertainment reporter Kaoru Shimada.
Yamada is a perfectionist mid-level Johnny’s. Will he be able to leave his mark before he turns 30?
