The complaint was filed against Tanaka.

Former “KAT-TUN” member Sei Tanaka, 36, who is accused of violating the Methamphetamine Control Law (use and possession), filed a complaint on July 4. Tanaka, 36, who is accused of violating the Methamphetamine Control Law (use and possession), filed an appeal on July 4.

Tanaka had just been sentenced to one year and eight months in prison with a three-year suspended sentence at the Nagoya District Court on June 20. In the courtroom, Tanaka expressed his remorse, saying, “For the sake of my family and those who support me, I will not be involved in any illegal drugs in the future.

In May 2005, Tanaka was arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department on suspicion of violating the Marijuana Control Law (the charges were dropped in June of the same year due to insufficient suspicion). Despite being arrested twice for drugs, he was given a suspended sentence. It is a relatively light sentence. Judge Fumihiro Hiraki of the Nagoya District Court explained the reason. Tanaka regrets what he did. He has the support of his father and family. I want to believe his words that he will never touch me again.

Arrested nine days after the verdict

Despite the “parental love” of the judge, Tanaka committed his third crime. On June 29, only nine days after his sentencing, he was arrested again by the Chiba Prefectural Police on suspicion of violating the Methamphetamine Control Law (possession). A patrol car patrolling near the west exit of Kashiwa Station on the Tobu Line spotted Tanaka, who was dressed all in black and wearing a straw hat and acting suspiciously. A physical examination revealed methamphetamine, and he was caught red-handed. Tanaka admitted to the charges, saying, “There is no doubt that I had methamphetamine in my possession. However, …….

It is hard to understand why he would appeal against a relatively light sentence, and immediately after his third arrest. When he was released on bail in March of this year, Tanaka spoke auspiciously on his YouTube page.

I believe that no matter what the reason may be, the fact that I did something I should not have done should never be forgiven. (I believe that it was only my own weakness and naivete. I will properly bear the responsibility and make amends for it. Were his words of remorse false?

Why did Tanaka decide to appeal the case? Mr. Hirotaro Kato, a lawyer familiar with the case, explains.

Hirotaro Kato, a lawyer familiar with the case, explains, “By appealing (the second arrest), he probably wanted to stall the trial and, in the meantime, get a favorable verdict for the second offense (the third arrest). If you are dissatisfied with the first trial decision, you must normally appeal within 14 days. If the sentence is not appealed and becomes final, the offender will face a more serious charge for a second offense.

On the other hand, if you appeal and delay the finalization of the sentence, the court cannot assume that you have committed a similar crime before. If you appeal, the court will not assume that you have committed a similar crime before, and you will be treated as a new case, and you may receive a suspended sentence. However, there is a lot of public interest in this case, and the judge’s opinion is very poor. Even if he appeals, the second offense case will probably result in a prison sentence.”

What defendant Tanaka should do should not be calculating in court. For the sake of his family and fans who support him, he must sincerely apologize and rehabilitate himself.
