An unbelievable obsession with a favorite

“President A was sending gifts to her favorite TikToker as if she were lavishing money on a host. What’s more, the source of those funds was company money entrusted to it by the residents.”
X Corporation, headquartered in Osaka City, operates around 50 nursing homes and facilities supporting people with disabilities in Osaka Prefecture, Kyoto Prefecture, and elsewhere. A former employee of the company spoke to a “FRIDAY” reporter, his voice trembling with anger.
In April this year, A’s “oshi-katsu” activities reportedly came to light when a large amount of money was withdrawn from an account holding approximately ¥400 million in X Corporation’s retained earnings. The former employee continued:
“As the internal investigation proceeded, an administrative employee came forward as a whistleblower, saying, ‘Actually, TikTok has been billing the company’s corporate card for the past two years.’ When we went back through the card statements and examined them closely, we discovered that A had been using the corporate card to send gifts. We also found that she had transferred money from a company account holding the retained earnings into her personal account.
A’s favorite was a TikToker who goes by the name ‘Kabukimono,’ and she used an account called ‘Tono no Sappon’ to send him gifts. Starting around March 2024, she continued sending gifts at an unbelievable rate of an average of ¥30 million a month, bringing the total to ¥600 million over roughly two years.”
“Kabukimono” became popular by posting about his flashy lifestyle, including extravagant purchases of luxury-brand goods and introductions to high-end foreign cars. He has 200,000 followers. Last year, he appeared on “Breaking Down” to raise his profile and pulled off a major upset by knocking down a higher-ranked fighter.
“Among Kabukimono’s fans, ‘Tono no Sappon’ was a famous gift sender. Sappon repeatedly sent gifts called ‘White Pegasus,’ which cost tens of thousands of yen each time, and also gave him high-brand clothing and bags from Louis Vuitton and Chrome Hearts.” (Same source as above)
Looking at Kabukimono’s livestream videos still available on TikTok, “Tono no Sappon” did indeed send gifts worth around ¥70,000 and gave him Chrome Hearts clothing worth several hundred thousand yen. (Second photo.) A person connected to X Corporation expressed disbelief.
“TikTok has a feature called ‘battles,’ where streamers compete against one another based on the amount of gifts they receive. The gift senders become desperate to make their favorite streamer win these battles. When Kabukimono receives expensive gifts and wins a battle, he expresses his gratitude during his livestream, saying things like, ‘Thank you, Sappon.’ Perhaps A would watch that and bask in a sense of superiority.”
