 The power of the “Goddess of Victory” was immense.
 Masashi Kumura (27), who had been winless for about two years, competed in the “RISE WORLD SERIES 2026” on June 6.Returning to the ring for the first time since last August, he secured a first-round KO victory and said through tears, “There were times when I thought about quitting, but thanks to everyone who has supported me all this time, I was able to make it back this far.”

 The person he wanted to thank the most was probably Yuna Furukawa (24), known as “Yu-chami.”Ever since she was appointed as an official K-1 cheerleader in ’22, she supported Kumura both professionally and personally—even visiting his home to cook for him—and he rose to become a top contender. However, the couple broke up in early summer ’24, and Kumura’s winning streak came to a halt.
 “They say the breakup was for the sake of the two young hopefuls’ futures… but Yu-chami was really down,” said an entertainment agency executive.
 However—she returned to her “beloved,” who was struggling. This past January, FRIDAY reported seeing Yu-chami visiting Kumura’s home. At times, she’d rush over by taxi up to three times a week, and then head back to work by taxi while rubbing her sleepy eyes—a level of devotion that couldn’t help but command respect.
 “Mental strength is crucial in combat sports. Yu-chami is always full of energy, so I get a positive mindset from her,”
 Kumura once told FRIDAY. It seems he’s not about to let go of his goddess of victory.
