 Frequent tree-fall accidents across Japan. The photo shows the scene of a cherry blossom tree collapse accident that occurred in April 2024 on Sannenzaka (Sannen-zaka) in Kyoto’s Higashiyama Ward. A cherry tree estimated to be over 100 years old and about 9 meters tall suddenly fell from its roots, trapping a man in his 60s who was passing by and causing serious injuries.
