There must have been problems with penalty fees, etc.” (music industry insider)
Nishimiya was caught red-handed by the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare’s Drug Enforcement Agency for possession of approximately 3.5 grams of dried marijuana at his home in Tokyo in February of this year. Nishimiya appeared in court in a black suit. His short hair was neatly coiffed and his face looked tanner than before with a good complexion.
He stood on the stand looking nervous, and when asked by the judge what his occupation was, he replied, “I am a musician, a singer.
According to the indictment, he possessed 3.517 grams of dried marijuana at his home in Tokyo on February 2 this year. After surfing in Chiba Prefecture on the same day, he inhaled a mixture of cocaine and MDMA in the car he was driving to his house in Tokyo. When he returned home, his house was searched by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare’s Narcotics Control Department and he was arrested in the act. He admitted that there was “no doubt” about the nature of the indictment.
During the questioning of the accused that day, it became clear that he was in close contact with drugs. The first question from the defense attorney spoke of his contact with drugs. The first time he used marijuana was when he was 20 years old while studying abroad in the United States. The children of his homestay family were using it,
I heard music in three dimensions and felt a sense of relief,” he said.
He said, “I felt a sense of relief when I heard the music in three dimensions. He used marijuana once or twice a month until he was 24 years old, just before his debut.
After that, he stopped using marijuana and cocaine, but resumed using them after receiving them from a local staff member at a festival in Los Angeles, California, in 2012. This time, he purchased the drugs from a dealer friend when he went to Hawaii from late last year to January, when he was charged with the crime, and the MDMA was given to him as a free gift.
Closely connected to surf culture
When asked why he used marijuana,
I wanted to get away from excessive expectations and pressure on myself. I wanted to refresh myself.
I wanted to refresh myself,” he explained. When asked about his state of mind at the time of his arrest, he replied, “I was in a drug-controlled area (Kudanshita, Chiyoda-ku),
When I was taken to the Drug Enforcement Agency office (located in Chiyoda Ward, Kudanshita), they told me to ‘take a look’ in front of the Nippon Budokan, and I saw the Budokan from the car. I looked at the Budokan from the car and my face turned pale, which is a thing because I have a black face. I was depressed and sad.”
I was depressed and sad,” he recalled.
After he was released on bail, he has been living at home with his parents. He has been receiving drug counseling,
I have never lived such a regular life in my 45 years of life. I wake up at 5:00 a.m. and walk with my therapy dog. I make music Monday through Friday and go surfing on Saturdays and Sundays. I don’t know when I’ll be back, but I’m building up my stamina.”
He revealed the reason for his tanned skin. As for the future,
I’m sorry for the disappointment I’ve caused my fans. We are slowly preparing to resume our activities so that we can deliver our music as soon as possible.
He also expressed his desire to resume his activities. However, the prosecution is suspicious of Nishimiya’s drug dependence, and when asked, “For what purpose did you use marijuana?
When asked what purpose he used marijuana for, he replied, “To listen to my music objectively. Can I make good music? Can I surpass my past songs? It was meant to support myself in the midst of the birth pains.
He replied. And cocaine “feels warming. To calm my mind,” and revealed that he used cocaine for different purposes, such as mixing it with MDMA powder to ease the discomfort he felt when using cocaine.
Again, about his use of marijuana,
He said, “I had a lot of experience overseas, and my family owned a surf store. I saw surfers and international athletes bringing in marijuana. I was very close to the surf culture.”
He stated. When asked by the prosecutor, “Can you break it off?
I think people are people and I am me. I don’t want to go to jail again.
I don’t want to go to jail again,” he said, declaring his intention to get clean. The prosecutors concluded that he had a “high affinity for drugs and a pronounced dependence on them,” and sentenced him to two years in prison. What did the judge think of his “My Way” plan to return to work while staying in touch with surf culture? The verdict will be handed down on June 11.
