On February 16, NHK announced the three new cast members for the historical drama “Kamakura-dono no 13”. The main new cast members are as follows

Mayu Hotta: Hina (wife of the main character Yoshitoki Hojo, played by Shun Oguri)

Kentaro Sakaguchi: Hojo Yasutoki (the eldest son of Yoshitoki)

Yasushi Seto: Hojo Tokifusa (Yoshitoki’s half-brother)

Oguri, Sakaguchi, and Seto are known to be close in their private lives.

Oguri, Sakaguchi and Seto are known to be close in their private lives. This is Sakaguchi’s first appearance in a Taiga drama. He and Mr. Oguri played father and son together for the first time and made the following comment. He said, “In my role as a son, I try to imitate and steal a lot of things. I hope I can act while feeling that in the scene.

It seems that Mr. Oguri and Mr. Seto often go out to eat with their fellow actors (first photo). They are all very dedicated to their work. They are all very passionate about their work, and it is said that most of the talk during dinner is about acting.

The passionate performances of the women are also a highlight.

It’s not just the men who deserve special mention. The cast includes Yui Aragaki (Yae, wife of Minamoto no Yoritomo, played by Hiroshi Oizumi), Eiko Koike (Masako Hojo), Rie Miyazawa (Riku, wife of Hojo Tokimasa, played by Yajuro Bando), and Kyoka Suzuki (the mistress of Emperor Go-Shirakawa, played by Toshiyuki Nishida). …… The female cast is also gorgeous.

As is typical for Koki Mitani, who also writes the screenplay, the love story is portrayed in a comical manner. The jealousy of the men is never too serious, so the audience is never bored. Ms. Aragaki, Ms. Koike, and Mr. Miyazawa all do a good job of portraying their love for their husbands and their smiling relationship.

The accent is probably Masami Nagasawa’s narration. She explains the background of “Kamakura-dono” in a calm voice with a touch of variety. Some people say that the narration is a bit dark, but I think it plays an important role in tightening up the drama” (NHK staff).

The sixth episode on February 13 received a viewer rating of 13.8%, up 0.3% from the previous episode and maintaining double digits from the start. There is no doubt that the good performances of the actors are supporting the strong performance.
