<h2>Traveled all the way to France and suddenly hugged him</h2>
A Japanese woman in her 50s reportedly attempted to break into the home of BTS member Jungkook (28), prompting police involvement. Between November 12 and 14, she is said to have repeatedly pressed the passcode on his door.
This same woman had previously forced a kiss on BTS member Jin (32) during a fan event in June last year and was formally charged with sexual assault by Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors on November 17 this year.
Her obsessive behavior extends beyond entertainment. A 65-year-old woman, claiming to be a freelance journalist, was arrested by Abiko Police in Chiba Prefecture on November 14 for stalking Japan national soccer team player Keito Nakamura (25) of France’s Stade de Reims. Between November 9 and 10, she sent multiple obscene DMs demanding sexual contact.
Reports indicate that in September, the woman traveled to France without permission, entered Nakamura’s team facilities, and suddenly hugged him. Local police in France arrested her following the incident.
In both cases, the women’s intense admiration appears to have escalated into uncontrollable stalking behavior.

<h2>Good intentions of wanting to help and wanting to protect</h2>
When asked, Hiromi Ikeuchi, a couple and family issues commentator who has handled over 38,000 consultations on relationship troubles, said:
“Male stalkers are driven by a desire to control. So, if they are rejected, they move on to aggression. But in the case of women, it’s a role-assuming type of stalking. It’s also called parasocial; within a pseudo-relationship, they unilaterally think, ‘He’s a star, but he’s really lonely, and I’m the only one who can understand him.’”
The woman stalking player Nakamura even claims on her SNS that she is his wife. For her, that may have been her assumed role.
“So, from their perspective, there is no malice at all—they become stalkers out of goodwill, wanting to ‘help’ or ‘protect’ him. That’s why it can be even more troublesome. The tendency for women to be older is partly for this reason as well.
As for dealing with ‘star stalkers’ who target celebrities, the first rule is that the victim should not confront them directly. It should be left to managers or the police. Additionally, family members, friends, or people around the female perpetrator must tell her, ‘This isn’t right.’ That’s the most important thing,” Ikeuchi added.
It’s true that whether in entertainment or sports, fans are essential, so preventing such behavior is inherently difficult. A talent agency official told reporters:
“In the Heisei era, when CDs sold well, the business model aimed to increase the number of fans broadly and shallowly. Now, it’s shifted to seeing how much money core fans will spend—from fan clubs to tickets, merchandise, handshake events, and photo sessions. As a result, the distance between talents and fans has undeniably become closer. It’s honestly difficult to clearly distinguish between what we consider a dedicated fan and a stalker. There are also SNS measures, so the production’s ability to protect talents is being increasingly tested.”
In the Reiwa era, as talents and fans become more closely connected, it’s even more important for each fan to be aware of their own distance from the star.
