After each public engagement, social media fills with comments like elegant atmosphere or it suits her beautifully. But sometimes her choices spark debate — for instance, the blue long dress she wore in October at the 79th National Sports Festival in Hikone drew comments that it accentuated her body line.”</strong></p>
<p data-start="1530" data-end="1607">Imperial Household commentator Shinji Yamashita provided further context:</p>
<p data-start="1530" data-end="1607"><strong>“For certain court rituals or ceremonies, there are strict dress codes. At events like the New Year’s Celebration or formal state banquets, decorations must be worn, men dress in tailcoats, and women wear robe décolleté. At other times, men may wear tuxedos and women long dresses.</strong></p>
<p data-start="1611" data-end="2014"><strong>For regular public duties, however, there are no fixed rules — Her Highness chooses her attire herself.</strong></p>
<p data-start="2021" data-end="2292"><strong>Of course, she is mindful of TPO. For example, she would never visit a disaster-stricken area in a skirt. Given her high visibility, she is surely aware of public and media commentary. It’s possible she considers such opinions when selecting her clothes and accessories.”</strong></p>
<p data-start="2294" data-end="2538" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">The soft, modest silhouette of her dress at Girls’ Messe may have been a subtle course correction after debate surrounding her previous blue gown.
