<p> The suspect must have been the type of girl they liked. The men approached a woman they saw at a restaurant in Tokyo. The crime took place in a private room of a karaoke bar they entered shortly afterward.</p>

<p> By July 14, the Shibuya Police Department arrested two men, including Ivanov Nikolai, 41, a Russian national living in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse and robbery. Ivanov, a former makuuchi (top-ranked) sumo wrestler who went by the name of &#8220;Amuru,&#8221; is alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman in her thirties, A. &#8220;The alleged incident took place in April,&#8221; the police report said.</p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> The alleged incident occurred between 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. on April 5. Ivanov and a friend, an Uzbek male in his 30s, were eating at a restaurant in Tokyo when Ivanov saw Ms. A in the restaurant and invited her to sing karaoke, probably to get her to lower her guard. The men allegedly searched for Ivanov&#8217;s name on the Internet, showed him pictures of himself in action, and told him that he was a real ex-wrestler.</span></p>

Immediately after entering the private room, the Ivanov suspects pushed Ms. A down and sexually assaulted her. They also robbed Ms. A of 40,000 yen in cash from her purse and fled. Ms. A immediately reported the assault to a nearby police box, and the police launched an investigation. The police have not yet revealed whether the suspects are guilty or not,&#8221; said a reporter from a national newspaper&#8217;s society department.</span></p>
