Aya Takashima at 46 From Martial Arts Venues to Rare Tennis Looks

An idol-like appearance and announcer skills praised as genius
On March 29th, former Fuji TV announcer and now freelancer, Aya Takashima (46), appeared as a news anchor on Saturday Station (TV Asahi). After the show, she updated her Instagram, posting an image of herself in a spring-like outfit, featuring a white blouse and light blue skirt. Just four days prior, she had shared another image with the caption “A spring break photo,” showing her peeking out from an object of the iconic “Anywhere Door” from the popular anime Doraemon (TV Asahi). The images garnered comments on social media such as, “Mesmerizing,” and “Still so cute.”
“Aya Takashima was a symbol of the early 2000s Fuji TV female announcer popularity. In her first year in 2001, she gained idol-like popularity with her show Ayapan. From April 2003 to October 1, 2010, she hosted Mezamashi TV as its main anchor. Among Fuji TV’s female announcers, her announcing skills were regarded as genius, and with her idol-like appearance, she became the face of the network.
After leaving the company at the end of 2010, she continued her career as a freelance announcer, becoming the MC of Saturday Station starting in April 2017, steadily building her career as a news anchor,” explained a TV magazine writer.
In her personal life, she married Yujin Kitagawa (48) of the band Yuzu in 2011, and is now raising two daughters.
FRIDAY has followed her career from her early days as a newcomer. The magazine has captured fresh moments, like her reading performance rehearsals in her second year as an announcer, her enjoyment of tennis on her days off, and her stunning figure during shopping trips. Among these, the most memorable moments were the adorable expressions she showed during her commentary of martial arts broadcasts. Through these precious photos, we can reflect on her glorious days as a “Fuji female announcer.”
Seven expressions on the ringside
At the ringside of the martial arts event “PRIDE.31” held in February 2006, there was a friendly snapshot of announcers Kyoko Uchida (48) and Aya Takashima. At the time, during the TV broadcast of “PRIDE,” the two announcers, known as “Ucchi & Ayapan,” would often be seen together commentating, splitting the popularity of Fuji TV’s female announcers. Inside the venue, packed with martial arts fans, there were many spectators cheering them on. The two remained in high spirits and kept up a lively atmosphere throughout. During a moment in the match when a fighter’s arm twisted in an unimaginable direction, they both screamed “Gyaa!” in unison, causing a stir. Aya Takashima especially showed a wide range of expressions during the event.
The Fuji TV where Aya Takashima thrived is currently shaken by a series of issues stemming from Masahiro Nakai’s (52) trouble involving women. On January 26, she addressed this issue on “Saturday Station.”
“Of course, it’s important to get rid of the infection, but in the current state, it seems difficult to rebuild trust.”
She expressed her thoughts in such harsh words. On March 31, a report from the third-party committee was released,
“This incident was recognized as sexual violence in the extension of Fuji TV’s operations.”
It was recognized as such. In response to this, what kind of comment will she make on the program airing on April 5th? We are eager to hear her words, as she has been called a genius.
