What did “FRIDAY” report 10, 20, and 30 years ago? In “Playback Friday,” we take a look back at the topics that were hot at the time. This time, we will introduce a story from the February 4, 2005 issue, which appeared 20 years ago : “Three weeks after his arrest, the murderer returned to the ‘crime scene’: Nara girl kidnapper and murderer, and the devil’s ‘many more heinous crimes.

On November 17, 2005, a first grade elementary school girl in Nara City was kidnapped and found dead at midnight. X (36 at the time), a newspaper salesman, was arrested on December 30 as the perpetrator; he had a previous conviction for multiple sexual assaults against girls, including forcible indecent assault of a 5-year-old girl in 1991, for which he was sentenced to 3 years in prison. Even after his arrest, there were whispers that he was involved in several incidents. All ages are current at the time).

The “murderer” appeared at the scene of the crime again.

The expression on the face of the man who murdered a young girl out of lust was not one of remorse for his crime. The murderer described his crime with an indifferent expression on his face, sometimes looking at the press with a weird, wan smile on his face.

Victim, A., 7. X showed up for the first time in about three weeks at the actual scene of the alleged kidnapping. The suspect, wearing a navy blue jumper, beige pants, and rubber boots, nodded occasionally in response to investigators’ questions and explained the circumstances surrounding the abduction.

On November 17, 2004, the day of the incident, X had been running around “hunting young girls” since the morning. He searched in Yao City, Osaka Prefecture, but could not find his “quarry,” so he went to Nara City. In the Tomio district of Nara City, where he was familiar with the area, he found and poisoned A-chan, who was on her way home from school.

During the interrogation, he was vague about the motive for the murder, but he admitted to the crime, and it was believed that it was only a matter of time before the whole case was solved. The focus of the case was now on the other crimes.

Osaka Prefectural Police were working on “two cases.

Among them was the case of a fourth-grade girl, B (9 at the time), who went missing in Kumatori Town, Osaka Prefecture, in May 2003. Immediately after her arrest, the Osaka Prefectural Police dispatched investigators to Kumatori Town to look into her relationship with X. “Early on New Year’s Day, a detective told me that X had been working on the case.

A detective came to me early on New Year’s Day and asked me if I recognized the criminal caught in Nara,” he said. He also showed us a picture of him,” said a local resident.

However, X’s alibi for the day of the incident had been proven, confirming that he was clean. Nevertheless, on November 17, 2004, coincidentally the same day as the A-chan incident, the Osaka Prefectural Police had obtained an arrest warrant for X on suspicion of embezzling money from the newspaper distributor where he worked.

The embezzlement was simply a pretext to pull him out of custody, and his real target was the “Toyonaka Elementary School Murder Case” that took place in October 1990. At the time, X was living in Minoh City, which is adjacent to Toyonaka City.

The victim, C (11 at the time), was strangled in the bathtub of their home and died about two months later. It is believed to have been the work of a pervert, not a robbery or a grudge. The year was 1990, the year after X was caught for indecent assault. It was also the year before X attempted to strangle a 5-year-old girl to death, an indecent assault.

According to an interview with this magazine, after X’s arrest, investigators from the prefectural police visited the Nara Prefectural Police and checked the seized items. When they found items related to the Toyonaka case, the prefectural police officials and the Nara Prefectural Police were negotiating with each other to extradite him.

Was this incident also the handiwork of the “devil” X? The suspicions only deepened.

Seized items from his home told the story of X’s distorted sexual proclivities.

As a result, X was never arrested in the Toyonaka City case.’ At midnight on December 9, 2005, this case remained unsolved and the statute of limitations expired.

The case of the kidnapping and murder of the Nara girl attracted media attention as a bizarre case because A’s body was damaged and X sent an image of A’s body to A’s parents with the message “Next is my sister” before his arrest. This was also the reason for his arrest. After his arrest, X’s “mementos” such as A’s school bag and jumper were seized from his house, as well as about 100 pieces of stolen underwear, most of which belonged to a young girl, and a “Dutch wife” made of a school swimsuit stuffed with clothes and other items. The items were all items that showed X’s unusual tastes.

In September ’06, X was sentenced to death at the first trial. His lawyer appealed, but X withdrew the appeal and his death sentence was finalized in October, and he was executed in February ’13.

Since X had committed sex crimes in the past, this case led to the start of a system in which the Ministry of Justice provides the National Police Agency with the scheduled release date and post-release location of inmates who have committed violent sex crimes against children.’ In 2006, a recidivism prevention program for prisoners was also initiated. However, sexual crimes targeting children continue to occur even 20 years later, against the backdrop of the spread of social networking services.

The “Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Law” enacted in June ’24 established the “Japanese version of DBS” system, which verifies that those who work with children have no history of sexual offenses. The actual implementation of this system is scheduled to begin in December 2014, but will it reduce the number of sex crimes against children?

Around the end of 2003, a young man who frequented a snack bar showed off a cell phone image of his private parts (from the February 4, 2005 issue).
A delivery service girl who once visited X’s room said, “My first impression was that he was a creepy and suspicious person” (from the January 28, 2005 issue).
