University Student and TikToker’s First Gravure Shoot Goes Viral

Q: You were also nervous about the swimsuit shoot.

“It had been since elementary school swimming lessons that I wore a swimsuit, so at first, I was filled with nervousness and embarrassment… But the staff were so kind, and the shoot itself was fun, so little by little, I started to relax. I was able to express a variety of facial expressions and poses.”

Q: What was your favorite outfit?

“My favorite was the outfit combining a swimsuit and overalls! It really captured a sense of freshness and energy, and I loved it the most.”

The origin of your stage name is Soseki Natsume.

Q: I heard that many of your social media followers like your glasses look.

“When I danced to the song ‘Goodbye Declaration’ on TikTok while wearing glasses, it went viral with 3 million views, so that impression might be strong. Actually, the glasses I’m wearing in this gravure shoot are kids’ glasses. I bought them in fifth grade and have been wearing them for ten years, continuously adjusting the prescription. I have a hard time finding glasses that fit me perfectly.”

Q: Why do you go by the name ‘Namaehamadanai.’?

“When I started social media, I really loved cats and wanted a name related to them. I thought it might be cool to reference Natsume Sōseki’s ‘I Am a Cat,’ which is how ‘Namaehamadanai.’ came about. Since I had the opportunity to appear in FRIDAY, my manager and I discussed changing it because it’s a bit hard to understand, but in the end, we decided to keep it as it is, thinking it might be unique and memorable. Since it’s a bit difficult to say, my fans affectionately call me ‘Neko-san’ (Cat-san).”

Q: What do you do besides being an influencer?

“I’m a university student, so I usually study. My major is quite demanding, so I attend classes diligently from first to fifth period on weekdays.”

Q: What do you want to challenge yourself with in the future?

“I’ve loved photography and models since I was little, often posing in front of the mirror and imitating them, so this shoot was a dream come true. I also admire acting and want to try it in the future. In particular, I’d love to challenge myself with a genre like Super Sentai, which is loved by people of all ages!”
