A year of pursuing what I want to do

I had a lot of words that had accumulated during my absence, so I was able to write the manuscript more easily than I had expected. Writing also helped me clarify what kind of life I want to lead and what I am struggling with.”

Nagisa Watanabe, a former announcer who left Fuji Television at the end of August 2012, is publishing her first book, a photo essay. Watanabe announced on her SNS that she had suffered from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) in the past. The book will include a record of her battle with the disease and her real life now that she is free, along with a variety of photographs.

I was surprised by the response when I announced the release of the book. I used to love writing, and many people said, ‘I’d like to see more of your writing,’ so I’m happy to be able to meet their expectations.” I would like to try my hand at volleyball, which I have been pursuing for 25 years, and at a new genre of work. I want this to be a year of pursuing what I want to do.”
