“Ahahaha~!”
On a sunny autumn afternoon, the joyful laughter of a couple echoed through a shopping street in Tokyo. With her long hair fluttering in the autumn breeze, Kiko Mizuhara (34) walked confidently in a cropped denim top. Walking beside her was a foreign man with a man bun, American pianist John Carroll Kirby (41).
Without any warning, Mizuhara suddenly hugged the man. However, the man with the man bun—John Carroll Kirby—didn’t flinch in the slightest. The two enjoyed their intimate moment without caring about the surroundings.
The couple met two years ago at a music festival where Kirby was performing, and their relationship developed from there. In August of last year, Mizuhara, who was on vacation in Bali, introduced Kirby during a live broadcast of “Matsuko Kaigi” (Nippon TV), surprising viewers.
“On their respective Instagram accounts, they’ve shared photos of themselves in loving poses, such as entwined on a sofa bed. Each time, their photos have made news online,” said an entertainment writer.
What brought the rumored couple to Japan?
“That day, Mizuhara had her 34th birthday party. It was a grand event held at a bowling alley, and Kirby also appeared in photos from the party posted on Instagram,” said a mutual acquaintance.
In a web media interview, Mizuhara spoke about Kirby:
“This is the first time I’ve built such a deep trust. When I stopped pretending to be someone else, I realized how painful it was to deceive myself.”
Indeed, the couple appeared incredibly natural, and it seems that their wedding day may be just around the corner.
