A 43-year-old man who was arrested for indecency with a female high school student in Kabukicho, Tokyo, was exhausted.

He said, “I think she’s about 16 years old.　I’ll give you 10,000 yen if you stay the night.

The man is said to have invited the girl like this and took her to a nearby hotel.

By November 14, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s Juvenile Development Division arrested Yasuhiro Mita, 43, a company employee in Ageo City, Saitama Prefecture, on suspicion of violating the Child Prostitution and Pornography Law. He is alleged to have approached a 16-year-old high school girl, Ms. A, at a hotel in Kabukicho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, and committed an indecent act at the hotel, knowing that she was a minor. He denies part of the charge, saying, “There is no doubt that I gave him money to do something indecent, but I did not ask him about his age until after the act.

The alleged incident took place between September 13 and 14 of this year, when Ms. A ran away from home because of problems with a friend and was in the so-called “Toyoko” area around the Shinjuku Toho Building in Kabukicho. The suspect allegedly asked her to stay the night and offered her 10,000 yen, and took her to a nearby hotel.

The suspect also stated, “Before I approached Ms. A, I said to her, ‘I’ll give you 10,000 yen if you stay the night. Before I approached Ms. A, I gave money to (another) woman who was standing around in Okubo Park and took her to a hotel. After that, I had time before the last train, so I asked her out. The police believe that Mita is guilty of an additional crime, and that this is the first time she has visited Toyoko,” said a reporter from the society section of a national newspaper.

There were many other cases of high school girls being taken to the hospital for drug overdoses. The police have been tightening their control around “Tohyoko” and urging people to stay away from boys and girls who hang out there.
