My mother made it big.

How are you all doing? Are you getting enough calories? My name is Hidehiko Ishizuka.

I have been given a page from Friday’s magazine. Am I the right person? Why now? I had many conflicts, but when I thought about it calmly, I realized that “Friday” is a fat person’s term for “fried food day. I could not be happier. I will gladly accept. I look forward to working with you, dear readers.

Now, what kind of image do you have of Hidehiko Ishizuka? Is it “a comedian,” “a Friend Park guy,” “a gourmet reporter,” or “a fat guy”? All of them are correct.

It has been 42 years since I entered the Sunflower Theater Company’s acting school at the age of 20. I have taken everything seriously. There is not a single job that I wish I had not done. All of my experiences have made me the Hidehiko Ishizuka I am today. Since I have been given the opportunity to write a series of articles, I would like to write about one theme each time.

From the time when I weighed 62 kilograms and could climb ropes with just the strength of my arms, to the time when I weighed 135 kilograms and broke out in a sweat just by looking at a slope. From the days when you could wear socks while standing to the days when you had to sit down to put on socks or you would get hurt. We will write in detail from “the age when clothing incorporated the seasons” to “the age when people wore short sleeves all year round.

Since this is the first time, I would like to introduce my brief profile. Real name, Hidehiko Ishizuka. I was born on February 6, 1962.

By the way, famous people who were “born on February 6” include American Major League Baseball player Babe Ruth, singer-songwriter Masaharu Fukuyama, Mrs. Davy, and reggae god Bob Marley. Just the fact that these wonderful people and I share the same birthday makes me somewhat excited.

I was born in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture in 1962. My father is from Yamagata Prefecture and my mother is from Shimane Prefecture. Perhaps it is because of my parents’ influence that I like strong-flavored food. And it was definitely my mother’s influence that made me fat.

When I was a child, the Ishizuka family was not wealthy, but the dining table was always festive. I would always ask my mother, “Is someone coming? I would ask my mother every time.

In the middle of the table, within easy reach of everyone, there was mayonnaise and ketchup. Moreover, even outside of meal times, my mother would put a yokan in my mouth when I was watching TV, or a banana in my mouth when I turned around to talk to her. My mother made me big.

Now that I think about it, I think my mother worked part time or did some inside work at home while my brother and I were in school to put more food on the table. My mother has already passed away, but I am truly grateful to her.
