Shocking Tattoo Photo Reveals Group Assault on Wealthy Man Trying to Escape Special Fraud Group
“You think you can escape? I’ve found you.”
The men shouted this as they beat the man. They shoved him into a car parked nearby and held him captive for an extended period.
On October 21, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police’s Organized Crime Control Division arrested two suspects, 34-year-old Ryuuya Mano, whose address and occupation are unknown, and 32-year-old Tomohiro Miyagawa from Koyama Town, Shizuoka Prefecture, along with two others, on charges of robbery, assault, and confinement. They are accused of assaulting a 20-year-old man, referred to as A. The police have not disclosed whether the suspects admit or deny the charges.
“The incident occurred around midnight on December 25 last year. At the time, A was at a restaurant in Toshima Ward, Tokyo. The four suspects entered the restaurant and punched A in the face. They threatened him, saying, ‘You think you can escape? If you don’t want to be killed, make money,’ and forced him into a car, where they held him for 14 hours. A suffered serious injuries, including a broken nose, and required one month to fully recover,” said a reporter from a national newspaper’s social affairs department.
“Why did you run?”
It seems that the suspects and A were members of a special fraud group.
“A was involved in the group’s debt collection activities, and about two weeks before the incident, he allegedly ran off with around 1.2 million yen that had been fraudulently obtained. The suspects reportedly questioned A, asking, ‘Why did you run?’ and ‘punished’ him accordingly. During the assault, A had his earphones (worth approximately 20,000 yen) stolen,” said the reporter.
A photographer from this magazine captured the moment on October 23, shortly after Miyagawa’s arrest, during his transfer to the police. He had a shocking tattoo on his neck, designed to intimidate those around him. He tilted his head back and showed an arrogant attitude.
“Once you join a special fraud or dark web job robbery group, it’s difficult to leave. Members are controlled through fear. When applying for dark jobs, you are asked to send images of your ID with a photo and details about your family. If you refuse to participate in a crime, you are threatened with things like ‘You’ll suffer,’ or ‘Do you care if harm comes to your family?’
As seen in this case, running off with money is absolutely forbidden. Those who break the rules often face extreme ‘punishment.’ If someone wants to escape a criminal group, they should consult the police instead of fleeing,” the reporter continued.
The police are continuing their investigation, believing that there were others involved in the assault on A beyond the four who have been arrested.
