Why the latest Spider-Man movie is “the worst ever! The reason why
The latest Spider-Man movie is finally released in Japan! Before you go to the theater, here's a review of the previous films and an in-depth guide to the highlights of the film.
The first big wave in Japanese cinema in 2022 will be Spider-Man: No Way Home, which opened in theaters on January 7th.
As of January 5, it has grossed more than $1.3 billion worldwide. As of January 5, it had grossed more than $1.3 billion (about 157.8 billion yen), the 12th-highest figure of all time. I can’t help but feel that the film is in trouble when it has achieved this level of success less than three weeks after its release.
Incidentally, it is the second highest grossing film of all time in the U.S. (over 260 million dollars) and the third highest grossing film in the world (over 600 million dollars) in its first three days of release. This is the biggest rocket start of the Covid-19 disaster. The content of the film has also received rave reviews, and many are recommending it for an Academy Award despite being the latest in the entertainment series.
In Japan, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is expected to create a whirlwind in this unique market, while “Spellbound: The Movie” and other domestic films are doing well. (The fact that the film’s release in Japan was unexpectedly delayed by three weeks has angered many fans, which shows how passionate they are about this film.)
In this article, I will explain the position of this film and give a brief introduction without spoilers. I hope this will be a good guide for you to enjoy “Spider-Man: No Way Home” to the fullest.
Spider-Man: No Way Home
First of all, let’s take another look at where this film stands. This is the third film in the “Spider-Man” series (also known as the “Home” series because of the “Home” in the title) starring Tom Holland. This series is also a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU ) , represented by The Avengers, and the story is connected to other MCU films. In chronological order
Civil War: Captain America” (’16)
Spider-Man: Homecoming” (’17)
Avengers: Infinity War (2006)
Avengers: Endgame” (’19)
Spider-Man: Far From Home” (’19)
Spider-Man: No Way Home (’19)
And so it goes. This will be the sixth appearance of Tom Holland’s version of Spider-Man. (For those who want to enjoy every detail of the film, it is recommended to complete the entire MCU and Sony Spider-Man Universe, including Venom.)
This time, however, there is a special twist. This time around, however, there’s a special twist: the film will feature characters from Sony Pictures’ previous live-action Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man series.
When the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home was released, fans were excited to see the appearance of “unlikely” enemies such as the Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus from the Spider-Man series (and they are played by the original cast!). The original cast!) (And they were played by the original cast!).
So, in addition to the above list
Three “Spider-Man” films (directed by Sam Raimi and starring Tobey Maguire)
The Amazing Spider-Man” series (directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield)
The Amazing Spider-Man series (directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield).
But originally, the Spider-Man, Amazing Spider-Man and Home series were all independent, with different lead actors, and were not connected. The “Home” series is part of the MCU, so it is linked to that series, but it also stars a different actor than the first two series, so it is a completely different film (think of the alternate 007 series). The idea that they would be linked was, of course, not even expected by many at the time of their respective releases.
However, a gimmick called ” multiverse” is introduced here. As you can see from the fact that it is not uni (one) but multiverse (many), it is based on the multiverse theory (the idea that there are multiple universes).
To put it simply, the multiverse is a state in which parallel worlds on the vertical axis, which do not interfere with each other, are connected on the horizontal axis and interfere with each other.
This allows the “Spider-Man” films from each world to come together in one world. Spider-Man: Spider-Verse” is the easiest to understand, but “Super Robot Wars” and “Kamen Rider” are also examples of the Multiverse.
In other words, the “Spider-Man”, “The Amazing Spider-Man”, and “Home” series were supposed to be independent films, but they are actually parallel universes that are connected by an “incident” that happened in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. In fact, they are connected by an “incident” in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The first film in the Spider-Man series starring Tobey Maguire was released in 2002, so it took almost 20 years for this dream project to come true.
Moreover, the MCU has been hinting at the introduction of the “Multiverse” for a long time, and the last film, “Spider-Man: Far From Home”, introduced a certain character, which caused a stir among the audience.
Before that, time travel was depicted in films such as “Doctor Strange” and “The Avengers: Endgame”, and after “Spider-Man: Far From Home”, the concept of the multiverse was explained in more detail in Disney Plus drama films such as “Wanda Vision” and “Loki”. The concept of the multiverse, familiar to American comic book fans, was slowly instilled in multiple films.
MCU fans are excited to finally see the Multiverse in action! For MCU fans, it was a “festival” where the tension was at an all-time high. It’s no wonder that the film has become a record-breaking hit all over the world.
In addition, Spider-Man: No Way Home was completely prepared for the appearance of the magic-using Doctor Strange as the one who causes the multiverse. Since the multiverse was created in this film, it seems to lead to “Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness,” which will be released on May 4 (with “multiverse” in the title, mind you). As usual, the MCU’s attention to detail is astounding.
This is a movie that will leave you with memories that will last a lifetime.
There is a reason why the “Spider-Man” series has to be so carefully considered. In fact, there is one reason why the “Spider-Man” series has to be extra careful: Spider-Man is a “dear neighbor”.
As a member of the Avengers, he fights to save the world, but his true territory is New York City. He is a member of the Avengers and fights to save the world, but his original territory is New York City, and if you add a big gimmick like the multiverse, it might not fit with the original taste of the film.
So, by adding Dr. Strange, a kind of cheat character, they tried to make the world view consistent (this is one of the reasons why the MCU is so popular).
Spider-Man: No Way Home is a film that incorporates the biggest gimmick of the multiverse, but at the same time takes great care not to lose the life-size and familiarity of the Spider-Man content. The multiverse in this story begins when “Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, goes to consult Doctor Strange after the whole world finds out that he is a high school student.
Unlike his mentor, Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Peter (Tom Holland) tries not to reveal his true identity to protect his privacy (and not to endanger his family, girlfriend and friends), but in Spider-Man: Far From Home Peter (Tom Holland) has been trying to keep his identity a secret (so as not to expose himself), but his enemies in Spider-Man: Far From Home spread his true identity, and both his best friend and girlfriend are denied admission to the university.
In order to protect their future, he turns to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and asks him to perform a spell that will make everyone in the world forget who Spider-Man is. However, during the ritual, an accident occurs and beings from another universe who “know” Spider-Man are sucked into the spell. ……
Spider-Man’s action philosophy has always been to “protect the people he cares about,” and this development has resulted in the creation of the Multiverse. Moreover, he tries to “save” Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) and the Green Goblin (Willem Defoe) instead of “defeating” them.
Spider-Man: No Way Home” is amazing in that the essence of the film remains the same despite the increase in scale, and the theme of the film about how a hero should be is excellent in that it remains “our Spider-Man” throughout.
The story, the action, the characters, the tricks. The story, the action, the characters, the gimmicks… “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is a festival film that will go down in film history, but it never forgets to be “Spider-Man”. There are still a lot of surprises hidden in the movie, and even the small details, casual dialogues, and items that appear in the movie are filled with love. In a sense, it is the ultimate fan movie made by professionals.
It is my personal opinion that “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is a movie that you will remember for the rest of your life. 2 hours and 29 minutes long, it is a blockbuster movie, but when I watched it for the first time, I cried from the beginning to the last scene. I cried from the beginning to the last scene. It’s not something you can encounter more than once in a lifetime.
I urge you to review the film thoroughly and go to the cinema well prepared.
