Masao Takeuchi, 43, was arrested in November 2011 for indecent conduct after calling a junior high school boy he met through an online game to his home, and was charged with non-consensual sexual intercourse.

Takeuchi recruited members for the popular online game “Wilderness Actions,” and recruited elementary and junior high school boys to join to form a group. He made up the rules of the group with himself as the “leader” and made the group members follow the rules. For those members who failed to follow the rules, he called them “yakashi” and demanded that they send him naked pictures or videos of themselves masturbating as punishment. They also threatened to expose the images and videos on Twitter (now X), and called the junior high school boys to their homes to commit indecent acts.

Takeuchi appeared in court with a shaved head and a large build, probably weighing close to 100 kg. He was wearing a black T-shirt with Snoopy printed on it and black sweatpants. His attitude was quite intimidating as he looked around the hearing room with a piercing gaze, and he did not appear to be remorseful at all.

According to the indictment and other documents, Takeuchi has sexually targeted not only women but also male students from elementary to high school, recruiting mainly elementary and junior high school students. He would call members of the group who “got away with it” to his home and engage in indecent acts with them, saying things like, “If you kiss me, I’ll make up for the offense.

The prosecution accused Takeuchi of committing these despicable acts “to satisfy his own desires without any justifiable reason. When asked about his admission or denial of the indictment, Takeuchi admitted to the acts but denied some of them,

He denied some of the allegations and said, “As for ‘without justifiable reason,’ I was sincerely dating him. As for “in order to satisfy my own desires,” I was doing it to satisfy the desires of both of us.

The defendant responded in a clear tone, “I was in a relationship with him.

Takeuchi had the victim join the corps when she was in elementary school, and sent her congratulatory comments on her birthday and when she entered junior high school. He approached the victim gently at first and groomed him before engaging in sexual acts with him. The defendant Takeuchi, who is a big man and over 40 years old, took control of the elementary and junior high school boys and committed the crimes. It is extremely vicious.

Takeuchi claimed that he was “sincerely dating” the victim, but there were several victims, and he has repeatedly made self-serving claims about other victims, saying that he thought they were dating.

The second half of the sentence has not been set because it is extremely likely that additional crimes will be committed in the future, and investigations are being conducted concurrently. The number of cases of children becoming involved in crimes through online games is on the rise. Criminals approach children as fellow gamers under false identities.

Once they become friends to a certain extent, they send naked pictures of themselves to the children as punishment. They then threaten to spread the images on social networking sites, demand money, or force the children to have sexual relations with them. This arrest is just the tip of the iceberg.

While online games are not necessarily dangerous, parents need to be more aware of the dangers that come with being able to easily communicate with people they cannot see.
