It was assumed that there would be some kind of explanation to the fans about “X JAPAN” as he had made a meaningful announcement. At the beginning of the press conference, he explained that he would be undergoing his third cervical spine surgery in Los Angeles in October. As for the release of the much-anticipated album, he said, “What the fans are saying is very good,
I understand what the fans are saying very well, so I honestly feel that I would like to release an album if possible and be free from such things,” he said.
He also said, “If I have to have neck surgery, I’d like to be able to live my life,
When you have neck surgery, you think about your life, don’t you? X JAPAN” is a very big part of my life. I think I should release it.
He then enlivened the press conference by saying, “X JAPAN is a very big part of my life. However, fans’ comments on this were harsh: “The usual pattern of saying ‘I’ll release it,’ but not releasing it in the end,” and “Another usual emergency press conference, another shrug of the shoulders from the press conference.
At the press conference, former member HIDE, who passed away in 1998, was mentioned, but Toshl’s name was not mentioned at all.
