<p> Two Japanese comedians achieved a remarkable feat on &#8220;America&#8217;s Got Talent,&#8221; a popular American audition program in which performers from all over the world compete to win the 150 million yen prize. The classmate duo &#8220;Schumacher,&#8221; consisting of Yuya Gomi (37) and Ryutaro Nakamura (37), won the &#8220;Golden Buzzer,&#8221; the judges&#8217; special award. It was the first time in the history of Japanese comedians to accomplish this feat.</p>
<p> Yasumura (43), who is also a member of Anyhow, and their classmate &#8220;Chocolate Planet&#8221; also participated in the preliminary round of &#8220;Got Talent Season 19,&#8221; but they received a higher rating than them. By winning the Golden Buzzer, &#8220;Schumacher&#8221; jumped ahead to the next stage. With the Golden Buzzer, &#8220;Schumacher&#8221; has jumped ahead to the next stage and is now in line to be crowned the &#8220;World&#8217;s Greatest Entertainer. When we asked them about their joy at this accomplishment, they revealed a surprising backstory.</p>

So I entered the competition with the goal of first getting on the air. But I was more surprised than happy to see the result.</span></p>

When we heard from the producer just before the show that Yasumura-san and &#8220;Chokopura&#8221; were also competing from Japan, we were in despair. I thought, &#8220;We have come this far, but in the end, &#8220;Chokopura&#8221; is going to take all the attention&#8221; (laughs).</span><span class="strongInContent"> </span></p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> Gomi: Really. So when the &#8220;golden buzzer&#8221; sounded, I was most happy that the buzz would somehow come to us.</span></p>
<p> At the &#8220;Got Talent&#8221; stage, he had the audience on their feet with his animal imitation tights. He performed a dog, then a zebra, then a unicorn, then a giraffe. When Nakamura completed the giraffe by nuzzling his face into Gomi&#8217;s buttocks, the audience erupted in cheers. <p><span class="strongInContent"> Gomi: But when I first got the offer, I was skeptical because I don&#8217;t usually get messages from overseas. I was skeptical. I asked the latest interactive AI, &#8220;Claude AI,&#8221; and it said, &#8220;That could be a scam,&#8221; so at first I wondered if I should reply (laughs). (Laughs.) But it was a chance, so I took a chance and replied, and it was definitely genuine, so things went a lot smoother from there.</span></p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> Nakamura:To be honest, I had my doubts until I got on stage, so I was really happy that we were able to successfully perform our material and leave the results behind. This was really the only way left for us. Although we did not achieve any results in Japan, we may be able to become a new role model for comedians.</span></p>
