<p> The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on July 6 in a restaurant district in Nerima, Tokyo. A man in a black suit holding a kitchen knife chased Ms. A, a woman in her 40s. The man stabbed her in the chest and stomach.</p>
<p><strong> The scene was downtown, about 150 meters from Nerima Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. A person who witnessed the trouble called 110 and said, &#8216;A man with a kitchen knife is chasing a woman. The woman was covered in blood. The man chased her into the convenience store where she ran into, but quickly fled.</strong></p>
<p><strong> From security camera footage, the assailant was identified as Morito Mogami, 64, an unemployed suspect who lives in a nearby apartment building. The Nerima Police Station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department took the suspect into custody after he returned to his home at a little past 4:00 a.m. on the following day, 7 days after the incident, about 5 hours later. The suspect, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, admitted the crime, saying, &#8216;I am sure I did it.</strong></p>
