The victim’s entire body was stabbed 111 times and then killed–.

On June 27, the Korean newspaper JoongAng Ilbo and other media reported the details of the brutal incident. What shook the Korean public was the behavior of defendant Chung Yu-jung, 23, who was charged by the Busan District Public Prosecutors Office with murder and destruction of a corpse. Chung allegedly killed a female college student of the same age whom he met on a matching app by stabbing her to death.

The incident took place shortly after 5 p.m. on the evening of May 26. Chong contacted 54 people, including female university students, through a matching app under the guise of recruiting tutors. It seems that he targeted highly educated people who could be alone with him at his partner’s house. The victim, Ms. A, who attended a prestigious university, met defendant Chong’s requirements.

Once they were alone, he stabbed her several times with a knife and killed her. After cutting the body into small pieces, he changed into Ms. A’s clothes and fled the scene.

Taking a cab in the middle of the night to take the body to the riverbed

The defendant Chung then took an even more horrifying step.

He put Ms. A’s mutilated body in a plastic bag and a suitcase and took a taxi to Nakdong River, which flows through Busan City, in the middle of the night. The body was allegedly dumped on the riverbed. A cab was used for the trip. The driver, however, became suspicious when he saw the young woman heading for the deserted river late at night. When he tried to help her put down her luggage, he saw blood on Chong’s hand and called the police.

The defendant was taken into police custody on May 29, three days after the murder. Why did Chong murder a college student whom he had never met before and dump her body in such a cruel manner? It seems that there was something in her background.

She was separated from her mother when she was one year old, and her father left her when she was six. After that, she lived alone with her grandfather. She failed the university entrance exam and the civil service exam, and was unemployed after graduating from high school. He did not have any close friends. He may have been trying to vent his frustration with his father who abandoned him and society by harming a third party who was highly educated.

It is known that about three months prior to the incident, Chung had repeatedly searched the Internet using words such as “murder method” and “abandonment of a corpse. A note found in his house said, “If I don’t kill him, I won’t be able to stop my anger. If I don’t kill him, I won’t be able to stop my anger. When questioned by the police, Chong said, “As I was researching the murder, I wanted to try killing someone.

A dark darkness spread through Chung’s mind. …… It seems that his uncontrollable frustration took the precious life of an innocent college girl.
