 The suspect conspired with gang members to steal approximately 33 million yen in cash and more than 120 pieces of precious metals.
 On May 24, the Wakayama Higashi Police Station of the Wakayama Prefectural Police announced the arrest of a man of unknown occupation on suspicion of residential burglary and theft. The suspect is Takefumi Miyamoto, 32, a former pitcher who joined the Giants as a second-round draft pick in the fall of 2008. He is alleged to have conspired with five members of the Yamaguchigumi VI, a designated crime syndicate, to break into the home of Mr. A, a company executive living in Wakayama City, and steal approximately 70 million yen worth of money and goods.

 The incident occurred on the night of February 25 this year. The suspect and Mr. A were originally acquaintances. According to Fuji Television Network&#8217;s &#8220;FNN Prime Online,&#8221; just before the incident, Mr. A was asked by the suspect to have a drink with him.
 While Mr. A was out having dinner with Miyamoto, his accomplices broke into the house. It is believed that they stole a safe containing cash and precious metals. The police have not revealed whether the suspects are guilty or not.
