<p> On May 16, the Mukojima Police Station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department arrested Tokigo Yanagi, 75, a dentist, on suspicion of indecent assault. Yanagi is the director of Apple Dental Clinic in Sumida-ku, Tokyo, and is alleged to have indecently assaulted a female patient in her 50s, Ms. A, during a medical examination.</p>
<p><strong> The incident occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m. on the 16th. The suspect placed a towel over Ms. A&#8217;s eyes and placed it over her eyes to block her vision. Ms. A, who had a towel placed over her eyes to block her vision, felt a strange sensation on her cheek. The towel was removed and the suspect Yanagi was discovered to have committed the crime. He immediately called 110 and was arrested.</strong></p>
<p><strong> Upon investigation, the suspect admitted to the crime, saying, &#8220;I was fond of [Ms. A] and couldn&#8217;t suppress my feelings. The suspect was alone with Ms. A. <p> According to the &#8220;Apple Dental&#8221; website, the suspect, who graduated from Kanagawa Dental University, opened the clinic in 2003. Surprisingly, his wife, a dental hygienist, was working as a receptionist nearby at the time of the crime.</p>
<p><strong> The suspect Yanagi wrote on his website, &#8220;My wife and I are warm and friendly. [D]irectly on our website, the suspect stated, &#8220;My wife and I will give you a warm welcome, so if you have any concerns about your mouth, please feel free to come in and ask us any questions you may have. It is hard to understand that he would indecently assault another woman right next to where his wife is working.</strong></p>

<p> When we spoke to a woman who had received treatment at Apple Dental, she had a surprisingly positive experience with the suspect.</p>
<p><strong> She said, &#8220;He was very attentive to me. He was very attentive to me, asking me if I was in pain. His wife is also a nice, cheerful person. But I was sometimes put off by the director&#8217;s long conversations. <p> The suspect Yanagi lost the trust of his patients and his wife because of his uncontrolled emotions. No one will listen to him anymore, even if he does self-promote.</p>
