On May 16, the Mukojima Police Station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department arrested Tokigo Yanagi, 75, a dentist, on suspicion of indecent assault. Yanagi is the director of Apple Dental Clinic in Sumida-ku, Tokyo, and is alleged to have indecently assaulted a female patient in her 50s, Ms. A, during a medical examination.

The incident occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m. on the 16th. The suspect placed a towel over Ms. A’s eyes and placed it over her eyes to block her vision. When we spoke to a woman who had received treatment at Apple Dental, she had a surprisingly positive experience with the suspect.

She said, “He was very attentive to me. He was very attentive to me, asking me if I was in pain. His wife is also a nice, cheerful person. The suspect Yanagi lost the trust of his patients and his wife because of his uncontrolled emotions. No one will listen to him anymore, even if he does self-promote.
