Defendant Tanaka was arrested. He was extremely popular among anime and video game fans.

I wanted to feel the thrill of whether or not I would be found. I did it to relieve the stress of my daily work.”

The man explained his motive for the indecent act he committed.

On March 15, the Tokyo District Court heard the first trial of Hidekazu Tanaka, 35, a composer accused of violating the Tokyo Metropolitan Ordinance on Prevention of Nuisances. Tanaka is a well-known figure in the music industry.

He has provided music for many works, including the popular game “Uma Musume Pretty Derby” and the anime “THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS. He is a very successful musician who also writes songs for idol groups. He was called “God Creator” and respected by anime fans. He is also a brilliant graduate of Kobe University’s Faculty of Developmental Sciences.

He composed “God knows…”, an insert song for the popular anime “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya”, and “Lucky Star”‘s opening theme “Motteke! Sailor Buku,” he joined the music production team “MONACA” in 2010. He became freelance in August 2009. He was a very energetic creator” (editor of an animation magazine).

What prompted such a popular composer to go to court was an indecent act he committed last August in a parking lot in Tokyo against a girl who was 15 years old at the time. Tanaka is alleged to have said obscene words to the girl, such as, “I’ll give you money, but you won’t do it for me. Tanaka explained that he approached the girl because she had exposed her legs. The prosecution further claimed that he had “repeated [the voyeurism] at least several dozen times over the past 10 years or so.

FRIDAY Digital” reported on the incident in detail in an article distributed last October 27. We would like to recount Tanaka’s bizarre behavior immediately after the crime (some parts have been corrected).

He saw a girl he liked at a train station. ……

Defendant Tanaka was arrested.

“I saw a girl I liked at another station and followed her because she was the type of girl I liked. We got on the train together and followed her to the bicycle parking lot.

This is what the man reportedly told police when they questioned him.

The Himonya Police Station of the Metropolitan Police Department arrested Tanaka on October 24, 2011 for attempting to indecently assault an underage woman. What kind of “indecent act” did the famous composer attempt to commit?

Tanaka apparently saw a 15-year-old girl named A at a terminal station in Tokyo a little after 10 p.m. on August 20. He had never met her before, but she seemed to be the type of girl he liked. Tanaka followed her for four stations on the Tokyu Line.

He followed her from the station where she got off the train, and when she entered a bicycle parking lot about 10 minutes’ walk away, he spoke obscenities to her. He then pulled her by the arm and led her into a dark, deserted area. Ms. A resisted and ran away, fleeing to a nearby police box. Fortunately, she was not injured.

Later, Ms. A and her mother filed a damage report with the police. A security camera caught the defendant following Ms. A., leading to her arrest.

The “Idolmaster” series, for which Tanaka writes songs, features teenage female idols as its main characters, and the anime “Aikatsu! targets elementary school girls. The crime against a young girl is too bad. There is a possibility that defendant Tanaka’s music will no longer be used in many productions in the future.

On his YouTube channel, he had been a topic of conversation as he calmly interacted with his fans while drinking alcohol. However, after the crime against Mr. A, he has been acting in a way that does not seem “godly. Here is Tanaka’s statement to the police.

I ran away in the opposite direction from the woman. I thought I would be reported.”

In court, Tanaka apologized, saying that he would like to move on with his life without forgetting his crime.
