 Natsumi will play the lead role in &#8220;Maiko-sanchi no Makanai-san,&#8221; a drama series directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda that will be available on Netflix from January 12, 2012.  The rehearsals for the role of Maiko were very difficult, he said.
 Sumire is a character who improves through extraordinary effort. I started training a year before the shooting and did ikebana (flower arrangement) and tsuzumi (hand drum), but the hardest part was practicing the &#8220;dance. They strictly instructed me on every movement from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. Every time I went to practice, I felt like running away because of the pain, and they pointed it out to me. I had never been so angry in my life. I realized that I was not good enough before I was not good enough, and I changed my attitude to never lose. On the day of the &#8220;Mai&#8221; shoot, the master came to the set and when our eyes met after the shoot, he smiled at me for the first time. It may not have meant anything profound, but it was a great relief.
 Although she struggles with her acting and training every day, in her private life she shows a side of a girl appropriate for her age.
 I became friends with Nana Mori when we performed together in Maiko-san&#8217;s Makanaisan. We both like spicy food, and it was fun to go out to eat on days when we weren&#8217;t filming.&#8221;
