Followed a female college student for 45 minutes…41-year-old man “indecent conduct while on probation”

A man was ransacking a woman near Aoto Station (Katsushika-ku, Tokyo) on the Keisei Line. Shortly after midnight, he spots a female college student on her way home. He finds a female college student on her way home. He followed her for 45 minutes, getting on and off his bicycle. After following her for about 2 km, he committed the crime.

On November 15, the Kameari Police Station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department arrested Riki Miyajima, 41, an unemployed man of unknown residence, on suspicion of indecent assault. At around 0:45 a.m. on the same day, the suspect allegedly touched and injured a 19-year-old female college student, Ms. A, in her apartment in Katsushika-ku, Tokyo.

The suspect committed the crime when Ms. A was at her apartment. When he stood behind her, he held her mouth with his left hand and bullied her with a feather. Ms. A was cut on the left cheek and suffered an injury that will take about a week to heal.

In January of this year, Miyajima was arrested on a charge of indecent assault.

Ms. A, the victim, screamed loudly and called for help. Neighbors who heard her voice rushed to the scene and called 110. Upon receiving the call, police officers subdued the suspect.

The police officer who responded to the call subdued the suspect. The suspect admitted to the police that he used the weapon with the intention of attacking the woman. This is not the first time Miyajima has committed an indecent assault. In January of this year, he was arrested on a charge of indecent assault and was on probation.

I feel that the suspect has a habit of committing indecent assaults. Normally, if a woman who is following a suspect walks around for 45 minutes, the suspect would stop the crime because he thinks that she might have noticed him. However, the suspect was convinced that she had not been noticed, perhaps because of his previous experience. It is evident that the suspect has a strong obsession to commit an indecent act on the woman of his choice, even if he has to follow her for a long period of time.

They are also very familiar with having an ice pick at the ready. Perpetrators of sex crimes tend to escalate their crimes because they cannot stop committing them. There are probably numerous extra crimes. Since the crime was committed while on probation, a heavy sentence is inevitable. Combined with the sentence for the previous incident, I think he will be sentenced to several years in prison.”

The court was impressed by his premeditation in preparing the murder weapon in advance and his persistence in following Mr. A for 45 minutes. Although he was on probation, Miyajima did not seem to have any remorse for his actions.
