Arrested suspect Nozaki

‘On the afternoon of October 3, I opened the front door and bumped into an investigator. He said, ‘Excuse me. He said his name was ‘Kanagawa Prefectural Police. I thought something had happened. There were more than a dozen investigators, and they had put a blue sheet down in the passageway and were removing items from an adjoining room. The investigation went on for about four days.

A resident who lives next door to the suspect’s house told this reporter, “The Kanagawa Prefectural Police had a case against the suspect on October 17.

On October 17, Kanagawa Prefectural Police re-arrested Yuya Nozaki, 28, a construction-related company employee living in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture, on suspicion of helping a junior high school girl in Yokohama commit suicide. On September 27, the prefectural police also arrested Nozaki on suspicion of kidnapping a minor for taking Ms. A around. The two were known to have been working together based on security camera footage.

On September 20, the two met for the first time in Tokyo and stayed at the Nozaki suspect’s home for several days. On September 23, Nozaki drove Ms. A to a bridge in the mountains of Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, presumably to help her commit suicide.

There are houses nearby and heavy traffic during the day, but it was raining heavily that day; it is believed that Ms. A jumped into the river from this bridge. The family had reported her missing, so the prefectural police investigated the area and found her body on September 29″ (reporter from the society section of a national newspaper).

At the time of his arrest, Nozaki explained that he “only dropped [Ms. A] off from his car [near the crime scene] because she told me it was near her home. Later, as the investigation progressed, he admitted the crime, saying, “There’s no doubt about it.

Nozaki also stated, “I was told that the girl was suicidal, so I just dropped her off near the scene of the crime. I was looking for suicidal girls on social networking sites. The one I was able to lure out happened to be a junior high school girl. Nozaki was using several different SNS accounts. However, he deleted most of them immediately after the incident, and it is believed that he tried to conceal his connection with Ms. A.

It is also known that Nozaki was searching for “suicide spots” on the Internet. He may have been suggesting to Ms. A where and how to carry out the plan.

Nozaki was said to have shown an unusual obsession with women.

According to a female acquaintance from elementary and junior high school, Nozaki was relentlessly contacting her using social networking services. She said that Nozaki was persistently contacting her through SNS, asking her to introduce him to girls and asking, ‘How about you? I replied, “I’m looking for a girlfriend right now. When I replied, he sent me more insistent messages, saying, “I don’t have a girlfriend right now,” and “Do something about it. I have heard that many women got fed up and stopped communicating with him.

Ms. A’s parents made the following comments through their lawyer.

I am so saddened by the sudden death of my beloved daughter that I can’t think about anything else right now. I am also angry at the murderer, but I am unable to put it into words. Right now, I’m just trying to sort out my feelings.
